Epitomozes McCown's career.

So close to being the QB of this team and inches away from actually being good.

Don't forget the first down play. He came really close to scoring on that one too. If he hadn't fumbled, he might've fallen in with the ball.

Can't blame McCown on that series. That play was a microcosm of our entire season. Our OL is putrid!!!!

He fumbled twice. Needed 3 more inches for the TD. He deserves some blame.

McCown played a gutsy game and I don't blame him for the loss...just saying that he seems like he's inches away from being a starting calibre QB.

Two years in a row that McCown has created drama, on 4th down, on the last play of the year

I don't think the knee he took against Tampa last year was very dramatic. ;)

That last play was a microcosm of what it's like being a Cards fan.

ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had some friends over that are pats fans so we were going back and forth, watching 5 minutes or so of the Pats/Phins game and then watching a few minutes of the Cards game--catching it all thanks to my goo friend TiVo.

Anyway, we caught the score at :13 as 19-17 Cards and thought, "cool, they punched it in." Then, jokingly before they ran that last play turned to my friends and said, "Hey, I bet you they score." Thank god no one took me up on it. In fact, a friend who doesn't watch much football and is unfamiliar with the rules said, " I bet McCown fumbles in the end zone and it's recovered by a lineman for a TD--and it's revied." I explained how that couldn't happen, but then the prediction came pretty damned close to the truth.

I was going to post something to the effect of how the last play was a poignant summation of our season this year.

Bummer.

He's going to be paid like one this offseason. Whether he ever lives up to his potential is still an unknown but I think getting away from here will make things better for him.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's the starter for the Dolphins or Raiders next year

I did not like the call to begin with. I did not like the call before it as we have found all season we cannot run the ball for a TD. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

He certainly does on the fumbles. He was carrying the ball very loosely and it did not take much to knock it out. Two hands Josh. Two hands around the dam ball.

hey atleast he will help us get a better draft pick. I am convinced that he was guaranteed a contract for next season if he made sure that the cards did not win the game. he guaranteed this by fumbling on the 1 yard line. typical cards.

If this is a joke, you should put a smilie at the end. If it's not you are quite simply: :stupid:

If you want to make a statement inside the 5, you repeatedly try to pound it in.

If you wanr to win, you mix in few passes.

And to try to run it over Wakefield (like they did at least one time) was folly.

looked like the line got a push then stopped and didnt even try to go forward like they were pass blocking. either way im ok with all the calls in the redzone of running the ball. we have to be able to get 3 yards in the nfl to win

Like that beauty McCown threw into the stands over the uprights and was promptly called for grounding? (It was roll-on-the-floor histerical he was actually arguing that call with the ref)

And how can we forget the interception he threw at the goal line in the middle of the field!

Agreed, at least pass once down there. And Josh deserves plenty of blame for fumbling. The OL is so bad it is not worth bothering with.

Well he lost us a spot two years ago on the last play of the year against Minny. As a going away gift he gave it back. He played hard as he always does but just comes up short.

McCown pretty much blew it for us in the red zone. He fumbled twice and was intercepted once there, unexcusable for any level of football. I'm glad he is going to be leaving and I really really hope we re-sign Warner.
