The Cards made the most with what they had, the road game, the third string QB, Ginn and Butler... it was just too much but that's OK. We have some serious talent coming back next year, and I doubt we will ever lose field position that badly again, it was atrocious . Ginn has been called out all year by the fan base, and his sorry play pretty much sealed our fate today as well. The O-line was just out matched for most of the game, so when we knock Lindley this week, remember what actually happened. He tried to not turn it over while he was getting murdered by the pressure.

The defense was once again overloaded with with situations due to the punting, the Ginns, and the turnovers. Zero points after Acho caused the fumble, Lindley got too sketchy at the end, wanting it too badly and forcing it when he shouldn't, when it definitely wasn't there. Once again tackling could have prevented 2 long scores, which also changed the strategy from which we could play.

Tough game all the way around, tough season in some aspects, great season in others, oh what could have been. I know I am enjoying football again like never before, this team has a lot going on during the off season. One year contracts, 20 million dollar contracts, D-Wash, Dockett brings much more than tweets, Carson Palmer was playinglike a top 5 QB.

Keim will do what he does best, we will do what we do best, we will discuss everything up, down, and sideways, because there is a ton of time between here and now. Cheers to a great season, if you aint got nothing nice to say, please don't say it at all. I'm hoping this thread can be more about the appreciation fans have for the playoff under dog next man up season the Arizona Cardinals just put in.

Mucho mahalo!! Go Cardinals

We did the most with what we had.

No other team could have accomplished what this group accomplished going through the top two QB's.

We laughed, we cried, some got banned, I think we almost sang kumbaya at one point... we are very passionate about our team that's for sure. Since Mikey has been in charge we have a lot of reason to be passionate again, he even got us a house we could drink booze in, lol sun devil stadium joke there. We have a lot to smile about when it comes to the upcoming year, and some major decisions are going to be made. We aint a suck team, that's for sure, the raiders, the bucs, the redskins, they are what sucks.

How about CC continuing to step and become one of the best players in the NFL at his position?

The rookie seasons of John Brown and Deone Bucannon are also encouraging.

You getting banned multiple times does not equal "some got banned." :)

Fun season for sure. Looking forward to a healthy 2015 Cards team with new faces coming in by Keim. Out with the bad, in with the good.

Very weird season. I woke up this morning with no excitement of an upcoming playoff game. The injuries/suspensions just drained this team. What happened today is exactly what I expected. I have to be honest. Horribly painful game to watch. 9-1 seems so so long ago. This team deserved better. What frustrates me is that America watched the Cardinals gain 78 yards all day today.

It hurts today but it beats the hell out of a season going 6-10.

The reason it doesn't hurt more is the total depletion of the roster as the season rolled along.

Nobody can say we collapsed.
Nobody can say we choked.

We simply ran out of bullets.

Lot's of work to do to get ready and enjoy the same kind of success we had this year.

Good thread, desertdawg. Agree with others here. Good season, just ran out of bullets. It was really a lot of fun, but losing that second QB was just too much. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Well said...

Pretty much what I/we expected, I think. I held a glimmer of hope at half thinking somehow the "D" might steal it but just too much overcome. I do think they should fix the play-off format, though. NO WAY a 7-win team should "host" an 11-win team. Home turf is HUGE in the play-offs. Anyways, we had a lot of GREAT moments this this year and I honestly believe we are an up an coming team. ...And I can live with that. :)

MARK IN SC :)

VERY PROUD OF MY TEAM!

I assume Kiem is learning on the job. As long as he is then this year was AWESOME in that it had all kinds of hard lessons.

Started with DWASH then our punter, special teams all year long fiasco, then the injuries then the fiasco of what happened when Carson went down.

None of this invalidates the fact our coaching staff is LIGHT YEARS better than the one heartbeat days and better than the Rod Graves empire but .. BUT....

Some of us are getting too old for them to have to learn EVERY lesson like 10 TIMES!

I would think a good lesson to learn is that you need a franchise QB, preferably one that isn't likely to be injured.

They gambled on Carson and lost, that's fine once, do it again and I'll become very pissed off.

I don't consider Palmer a swing and a miss. Going back at the time there was nobody out there to bring in a play QB for us. Remember Palmer is 16-6 as our starting Qb. He's 13-2 going back to mid season last year.

However, that being said are his injuries this year an anomally or is it what you get with a 35/36 year old QB?

We definitely need a long term QBoF.

Good stuff Dawg.

This season was super fantastic and then the injuries finally caught up to us and the end of the season was as painful for me as countless other Cards seasons. Not because we regressed to the SOC's because that won't ever be the case with Michael in charge. No it was because I felt that destiny was on our side and that BA would take this team to be the first to ever have home field advantage for the Super Bowl. I was all in on this and fully believed.

Even while we were losing DD and DWashout and Los and then CC for some games and Shaughnessy and ............etc. etc. etc. I believed. Then Palmer goes down and Stanton is okayish and I still believe. Then Palmer comes back and we keep winning and I really believe again. Then Palmer is done for the season and Stanton doesn't play great but we win some games and I believe we stand a chance. BA has this team believing and he will make it happen. I fully believed in Next Man UP and that this staff could take any group of players and win.

That's why how the final 4 games of the season were such a HUGE bummer. I was all in and didn't have any defenses up to protect myself for the fall which as it turned out was inevitable. It's BA's fault because I witnessed how magical he is and then watched him run out of magic. Not at all fair on my part but I'm a fan so it's my right to expect too much.

Would have preferred a slow start with a strong finish but that isn't something that can be planned.

Now the biggest test for BA is upon him. Season unraveled on him at the end, does he still have the players trust and belief and can he retain and add much needed talent this offseason?

Dobler was right on the Keim learning as he goes thing. Steve Keim's job is going to be the REAL DEAL this off season. He might have to go on a hunt for a DC to begin with. Then he not only has to figure out how and what to do with D-Wash, but with Fitz, Dockett, Cooper, and a whole lot of journeyman players. He will have to fit it all under the CAP, and will then have to draft a new cast of college guys to come in and compete for playing time. He was fun to follow last year, and it should be at 'least' as exiting as it was last year with an upside that is higher than that was.

Meanwhile, thanks for the memories. I will keep this season stored in my heart forever, and instead of thinking 'what might have been', I will be thanking this team for 'what almost was' !!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU CARDINALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO, it was not.

What a kick in the nuts this season turned out to be. This felt just as bad as finishing 5-11. Went 2-5 in last 7 games as SUPERBOWL contender was reduced to rubble. This was a ****ty season that turned out to be an embarrasment in the end.
