that was the longest run i've seen from a cardinal player ever! omg!

The 70-yard touchdown run by Tim Hightower on the Cards’ first play from scrimmage tied the Cards’ second-longest in playoff history. Adrian Murrell had a 74-yard TD run against Dallas in the 1998 playoffs, and Elmer Angsman had a 70-yard run in the 1947 championship game.

That run right there was so out of the ordinary I knew we were in trouble the rest of the day. That was the best run of his life right there and then well we all know what happened from then on. Not sure what the hell Whiz was thinking today but Beanie only getting 4 or 5 touches was an absolutely ******** gameplan from the get go, he just went for damn near 100 against the best run D in the league and our gameplan is to not run on a D that is near the bottom of the league against the run! Bad decisions not sure what the hell this team was doing today but it was not playing football!

This is NOT college lots of players do stuff in college cause your not exactly playing good competition all the time. Again the RUN of his life! Still doesn't explain our gameplan of not running and controlling the clock against one of the best if not the best offense in the NFL. What the hell was the gameplan? Score quick and let their offense kill us well we did that perfectly! They used the gameplan we should have been using RUN the ball and pass when its opened up you know be balanced like we were last week!

The strength of this team is & will be as long as #13 is wearing cardinal red throwing the rock 1st & running 2nd. Get a grip, get over it & quit second guessing what has already happened. We couldn't have stopped the Saints 2day with our entire defensive roster on the field.

What can you do when you've run 5 offensive plays and you're down 21-7 and on Wells one carry he got 1 yard?

1 yard wtf are you talking about? He got very few carries and scored a TD EASILY from about 4 out would take TH 2 or 3 trys. Your missing the whole point we came back and long drive and scored its 21 to 14 with a balanced drive and after that they totally went away from running the ball. The defense while horrible did not have to much time to rest with the 3 and out passing crap from the offense. We all talked about needing a balanced attack and keeping Brees on the sideline yet we did the exact opposite!

You are such a freaking HATER and its not even funny when it comes to anything Hightower. Dude is a good RB. One day you are just going to have to accept it and move on. That running lane Beanie had on the TD was big and TH likely would have scored as well. Yes you always seem to find a way to just take a shot at TH.

Just be happy we have two decent RB's for once?

Oh and Duck is 100% right. The way that game unfolded didnt afford us the opportunity to pound the ball with Beanie or anyone. Suggesting so is just plain silly.

i want to go back to that moment when timmy scored and it was 7-0. i really thought that was going to be a clue as to what the day was going to be like. unfortunately that was completely not the case. good run though.

WTF are you talking about? TD by Hightower on the first play. Urban fumbles on the 2nd play. Cards go 3 and out mainly because Wells and Warner botch a handoff, TRYING TO RUN THE BALL, and are down 21-7 after only 5 offensive plays.

Then on Wells first carry without fumbling he gets 1 yard. So that's two rushing attempts with Wells that have resulted in a fumble and 1 yard gain.

Balanced drive? 7 passes and 3 runs? Then the D gives up a 44 yd TD on the flea flicker and its 28-14. Then the Cards run the ball on first down again! But Warner throws a pick on the next play. NO goes right down the field and scores again and its 35-14.

Now you're down by 21. Sounds like a great time to pound the rock with Beanie, if you want to run the clock so the Saints can't score anymore that is.

Of course then the Cards come out to start the 2nd half down by 21 and RUN the ball on first and second down and...you guessed it... went 3 and out! Saints get a FG and now its 38-14.

You want to know when the first time was the Cards went 3 and out only passing the ball? With 8:22 left in the 4th quarter!!!

Who would have thought that the Cardinals would score only once after that. The quick score was nice, but I think the way the Saints responded set the tone for this game.

I'm surprised at that as well. You'd think they'd go back to that play more and see what they can get. Both TDs were similar running plays correct?

They said before the game, every time Wells is in the game it's a running play.

When they mentioned the Saints were calling out it's run it's a run I knew we were done, someone has to quality control that crap, it's so obvious when we run and when we pass.

Our base package is basically three WR's a TE and a back and until we can run the ball well, normally out of that package we're screwed.

I have not gone back and looked at game stats but you the Saints were not rated high against the run. We just should not have had Urban in the game where we gain twenty yards and he fumbles.

You wonder how the Cowpies were able to lay a whipping on the Saints. Should make for an interesting pie game.

I guess it's from being a Cards fan for almost 40 yrs, but when he scored the thought popped into my head "Is this their last score of the day?"

You seriously want to complain and take away from that run just so you can justify your undying hatred of Hightower and your love for Beanie??? THT had one more carry than Beanie today. Were were down so far running went out the window. And with the carries Beanie had he was not able to get much going.

At some point I hope you can accept what our coach and many other know and that is that THT is here to stay and is a good RB.

No I can agree with game plans from time to time. But all you ever do is bash and talk trash or minimize anything good THT does. And exploit anything he does bad. And it has reached a point that it has pissed me off.

I don't hate Timmy Shane and if you read some other threads I have stated this many times. I think he has become a much better player than last year. My original post was just stating that was the run of his career right there, did you see him do that some other time in the game? It was a great run, my question was what the hell was our gameplan or did we just completely go away from it when we lost our composure? Our D can't be expected to hold down that offense so the gameplan from the start should have been ball control but it seemed that it was not the plan. Again for the last time I don't HATE TH he is a cardinal and I want him to succeed. I want our future franchise back to get more than 4 or 5 carries period. When he is only in the game for those few carries it is useless as the D knows whats coming, I remember a few times we had some success throwing it to Beanie as well. Hopefully in the offseason this coaching staff will figure out how to use a legit threat better. I hate that when he is in and lined up we all and the D pretty much knows what is coming! And Diehard chiming in all late with his insults was petty and pretty much classless!
