The number 1 attribute a QB needs is the ability to process information quickly. Of course, you need that athletic ability too but quick, accurate decision making is what separates the great QB's from the field. The problem is, none of us are really privy to that information.

Trade Drew Stanton and a 3rd RD pick this year and a 4TH next yr.
To Colts for Brissett.
Now you have the QBOF with experience ready to step in a help the team win games.
Cut sign and draft OL and the Cards can be playoff ready in 2 years.
Able to contend for the next 5 to 7 years with a young team.

Brissett will not be made available. Even (no longer certain) if Luck returns his durability will be in question for the remainder of his career. With a 2018 cap hit of only 760K, he’s not going anywhere.

My biggest fear is ARZ misses out on both Jackson and Mayfield with Keim either not having a pulse on teams potentially maneuvering around ARZ to get these guys leaving ARZ on the outside looking in or Keim trying to get cute and think he can get these guys even after moving down trying to collect more picks and again miscalculating on other team's interest in these two.

Denver comes to mind. Elway knows neither Lynch or Semien is taking them anywhere. I can see them jumping us again for the third year in a row.

Good God! After listening to Mayfield I began to wonder if he was a long lost son of Arians. Either that or he had an earpiece in and Arians was on the other end telling him what to say. Maybe Mayfield has been watching Arians interviews and post game conferences and modeled himself after Arians.

He's a kid with a lot of confidence in himself. That may be a turn off to some people but someone on this board said it best that the QB needs to be the most competitive player on the roster. Mayfield garners respect in the huddle because his teammates feel he can carry them to a win. Prior to this year, I was concerned about him being the next Johnny Manziel with his arrest last spring but he looks to have kept his nose clean and learned from his mistake. Hopefully we he gets to the NFL he can tune out his father who seems to be an overconfident show dad who has made himself known and heard in the whole transfer mess from TT to OU.

I don’t recall Aaron Rogers being the best interview when he was at Cal and he turned out ok. Rosen has a bunch of talent to work with.

Agreed...he reminds me of Rodgers in his interview style.

To be fair - here is another video of him after a loss (Memphis).

I'm glad you posted this. One interview doesn't ell the whole story. Rosen has talent, no question, but can he lead in the NFL?

64 Million dollar question there my friend. That judgment will have to be made during the interviewing process. I'm not really sure how evaluators judge that trait? Talk to coaches and teammates? Not sure if coaches are that truthful when it come to talking about their players. Their goal is to get them drafted as high as possible because it helps them in their recruiting.

Suggest we look to the analytics measurement standard of calculating the percentage of the time a QB accomplishes a play's objectives - (1) far exceeding it, 2) barely achieving it, (3) not achieving it and (4) negative points for really screwing it up.

Similar scores could be applied to how often the QB meets down & distance goals.

As for "competitive personality" - wouldn't high production (reflected by high analytics scores) factor in a QBs personality and leadership skills anyway? (i.e. A dude would probably never achieve a 120.0 QB Rating, unless he had certain competitive skills. Conversely, no one would care whether or not he was "Mr. Congeniality" if he produced at a high level).

As for physical skills - Arm strength, accuracy and decisioni-making are givens. That said - More mobility is better than no mobility (especially with our OL).

Mayfield, Rosen, Allen, Darnold, Jackson. We'll get one of them. We'll be picking around 6-7.

Cardinals' scouts have been spending a good deal of time watching Mason Rudolph. His accuracy for much of the Bedlam game was pinpoint...until late in the 4th quarter. I can see why they like him. He checks off pretty much all of the boxes.

Baker Mayfield may even have a stronger arm than Russell Wilson. He threw the bad pick late in the game, but it didn't cost the team the win. The play of the game was his bomb TD to answer Rudolph's picture perfect post pass TD to bring the score to 51-48...and just like that it was 58-48.

Mitch I get what the Cards like about Rudolph, but IMO it's mainly his size. Watching the 2 throw the ball in games, the 2 players aren't even comparable when looking at them being consistent in their play. Am I blinded by what I think or see?

All I know is this, if Baker baker the Touchdown Maker were 6'3" or 6'4" he would be more than likely the guy all the scouts & fans would be drooling over!!! I think people are making a major mistake in judging the Sooner QB on that. Thoughts?

I agree, scouts seems to put too much stock in ideal measurables but Mayfield has all the tools to make a great QB with the exception of height and even height should not be a knock as Drew Brees and Russell Wilson will be in the HOF when they call it a career and both are around the 6'0 mark give or take an inch.
