truth hurts sometimes.

players legacies are defined by what happens to their teams. Missing the playoffs in their entirety in a season where you were one of the favorites to win would be a major black spot on anyone's career... much less someone who's already got some pretty ugly black-spots like Kobe does.

That is a reach. Kobe's legacy is already set.

as what? a top 10 player no doubt, but there's no way he's ever looked at like a Magic, Bird, Jordan with the way he and his team have crapped the bed the last three years... all of those teams LOADED with talent.

Wow...terrible news. The last thing the Buss family, team and fans needed during a time of turmoil.

The good dr. was integral to many of my most cherished sports memories, and ran the organization beautifully. RIP.

I agree but this season in itself is going to be more of a reflection on D12 than Kobe. Being here in SoCal now I watch a good amount of Lakers games and Howard is a flat out joke. I know Kobe probably isn't the easiest guy to play with but when even Nash and Gasol (two guys who are widely known as some of the nicest and most humble teammates out there) are berating your apathy during games then there's a problem.

Kobe Bryant to Mark Cuban: 'Amnesty THAT'
GAME ON!
Adi Joseph, USA TODAY Sports5:39p.m. EST February 24, 2013

Nothing fazes Kobe Bryant. Not Mark Cuban. Not national television. Certainly not Jae Crowder's defense or Darren Collison's speed.

After Cuban explained Sunday why he suggested the Lakers cut their star, Bryant provided a brilliant counterpoint in a 103-99 win against Cuban's Dallas Mavericks. He finished with 38 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Lakers won their third in a row and improved to 8-3 in February.

"Amnesty THAT," Bryant tweeted after the game, referring to the amnesty clause that Cuban suggested would let the Lakers avoid paying his contract.

"I'm sure if (Cuban) wants to amnesty Dirk (Nowitzki), that's something we'll be willing to entertain," Bryant told news reporters after the game.

More like Kobe struck a nerve. Even Bill Simmons and Cuban had to bow down to the masterful "suck on that, bitch" tweet from Kobe.

When Bill Simmons, who hates the Lakers and Kobe as much as I hate the Celtics and LeBronze, retweets it and says its "One of the best tweets of all-time" then it is on point.

Kobe just dropped another monster game, shooting above 60%, and gave a nice ol' Johnny Cash at Folsom to Cuban.

If you don't dig that, you are an inhuman monster. :)

Just Mark Cuban being the usual ******* Cuban, and ending up getting served, as usual.

that was a big W for the Lakers. pretty much eliminates the Mavs IMO and was a somewhat tough roadie that the Lakers have lost more often then not this season. 11-4 in their last 15.
