People WILL inevitably get bored with the superteam concept. There is nothing more monotonous than knowing who is going to be the champs (and even the runnerup) before the season even starts. Why bother following unless your team happens to be one of the superteams?

I think there is a novelty factor that may hold fan interest for a couple years, to see if one superteam can beat the other. But even that loses its fascination with time.
Just wait until GS gets to like 4-5 straight championships and we'll see just how much people still like the concept..

I didn’t even watch the finals. I knew GS was heavily favored.

That sucks. He's someone I noticed was a free agent the other day and was going to say something about as a potential target for us. He'd be a stretch 4 for us but the main reason I wouldn't have mind the Suns inquiring about him would be the cost and how he's not a restricted free agent like most other options mentioned. We wouldn't have needed to overpay to pry him away or wait a week for news his current team elected to match. I suspect he would have made about $10 million a year which would align with him opting for the $13.7 million dollar payday instead.

He just turned 30 last week and has been relatively healthy, playing in no less than 73 games over the last 6 seasons. He shot 49% from the field and 32% from 3 while averaging 6.7 rebounds and scoring 14.1 ppg in that stretch. It wouldn't be ideal but he'd be an upgrade over Bender or Chriss, allowing us to move 1 to the bench. I thought his 3pt shooting was better than that though. It might be if he was on a team that played more uptempo and spread the floor. He'd probably get better looks here than the Pacers.

This sort of does away with the rumor I heard earlier today that the Pacers were interested in Aaron Gordon.

Young would have been a reasonable target as you mention.

Maybe they're open to a trade. I wouldn't be against it for the right price. They could then go after Gordon and we'd have a PF for the season. I know having him for just 1 season isn't ideal but financially it might be better for us. If it works, resign him. I can't imagine they'd be able to ask for a very high return to unload him. Who knows.

Free Agency needs to start already. Wish whoever it was didn't get that rumor going today because things were calm enough that waiting a couple more days wasn't ideal but ok. Now I've been waiting for something to happen on the edge of my seat, practically.

The same here. I had an appointment today which I almost canceled because I thought a big trade was coming down. I'm glad I didn't.

Add Dwight Howard to the shameless list. He's signing with GS in order to get a ring after being bought out by Brooklyn.

With how Howard is getting bounced around though I can't see many teams being interested in him. A team that is built and adding him as a role player who can be waived if there is any sign of problems is basically the best he can hope for. A developing team wouldn't put up with him. Still a cheap move but it's not like he'd get more money elsewhere. The Nets, Hornets, and Hawks all gave up on him, electing to pay players less skilled more money to make him go away. He was traded for Miles Plumlee and Mosgov over the last 2 years. If anyone said that would happen 5-6 years ago they would have been mocked and ridiculed.

"Lebron hit up Durant about coming to the Laker"- Steven A Smith

Damn it Lebron do you have any shame? I used to be a Lebron fan but this is getting stupid. Begging players to come help you now.

you know what's funny about this? i hate the Warriors right now and have rooted for LeBron to beat them the last two years but if the above happened, I would do a complete 180 and start rooting for the Warriors to beat Bron/KD.

And I kinda think they'd have a good shot to do so.

Durant would destroy all his credibility and be hated for years if he did that. I can't see that happening.

Yes, Lebron is a tool for even asking him to do it, because he would hurt his own legacy as well.

He already has his Coward ass left the Thunder to go to the enemy, he has lost all credibility and I hate him and LeBron a couple ACL tears would make the league funner again

I would probably root for the same... but I also think right now I'd prefer Durant jump ship. It would be a helluva lot more interesting than watching this Warriors squad the next 2-3 years.

Rating prove it. People like super teams. I for one am a life long Suns fan and consider myself a die hard Suns fan from day 1 im born and raised here in Mesa, but a few years ago when the Warriors won 73 games and on the other side when Lebron, Kyrie and Love were steam rolling through the East

I have never in my life been more excited to watch and NBA finals in my life. I was like a kid and the way it ended with Cleveland coming back 3-1 was just amazing.

People like watching stuff like that

Ratings sure do. This was the lowest rated and least watched finals since 2014.

That’s horrible for the league overall.

I read this as well. Are they referring to the 2018-19 season or the following season?

Some posters had thoughts he couldn't be traded with an injury.

It could get interesting.

It would be this training camp. A torn meniscus usually takes 1-3 months to recover from (depending on the severity of course).

It would have helped if they clarified when Lonzo received the injury.

Still 1-3 months should get him back in time for training camp. However, a torn meniscus injury is not always that clear cut depending upon the severity.
