In hindsight, the better deal would be to sign and trade for Irvine for Ayton and Shamet, and have CP3 either coming off bench or as expiring for later teals. Without Nurk, maybe we could get Bitadze or some other min C instead of Eubanks.
Even though I thought Irving was a risk at the time, I really believed his enormous talent would benefit the Suns. Sigh…

I think a lot of Irving’s recent success has to do with J-Kidd. Both have had their fair amount of off court struggles and Kidd can mentor Irving. Kidd is also not a micro manager. He knows when to back off and let players play. doncic respects Irving. I think they both respect each other, but it took them a while to adjust to the other. They were both too passive with the other for a long period. End of last season and first half of this season both doncic and Irving did not play a lot of games together and had some struggles when they did. I think now they have a lot more idea of how to play together.

He's finally healthy, and yes Kidd lets his players cook.

Man… you bringing up Kidd’s off court struggles made me remember the Mavs are not only led by a raging Antisemite on the court, but a wife beater on the sidelines also.

Go Boston. Blegh.

It is what it is. No reason to hide from it. I hope that they have changed and corrected their behavior. Sometimes that is possible.
