Can only hope we find an Aldon Smith like talent.
and Justin Smith to hold for him. Guy can't even beat Batiste for a sack without Smith doing the dirty work, err...holding the OT.

I don't give a flying ____ how we get them, I'd kill to see our defense with an edge rusher capable of getting sack numbers in the teens. I love Peterson, but damn I wish Denver wasnt picking ahead of us. Von miller is a stud.

We'll have the chance to draft one this year. Jones, Werner, Montgomery,Mingo, and Moore are all possibilities.

Man, that guy from 2007 was only 9 yards shy of record

He who shall not be named.

I'm torn on who we should take. Guess it depends on free agency. Would love a pass rusher but damn our line sucks and so does the qb situation.

We'll get the wrong one. Book it.
We have had a pretty good track record in the last few years when it comes to drafting defensive players in the first 3 rounds.

The last 4 drafts we have drafted DRC, Calais Campbell, Dan Williams, Daryl Washington and Patric Peterson. CC, DWash and PP are all pro bowl caliber players. Dan Williams is a solid starter and DRC was pro bowl caliber until he decided that he didn't care about being good. Jamel Flemming was the only one drafted this last year, but he was drafted in the 3rd and it might be a year or two before we can truly grade that pick.

And yet we won't IMO. The offense is atrocious in every area except WR, thus making us look at guys similar to Acho, who while is solid will never be a difference maker.

It's true. In the 10+ quarters since Justin went down, Aldon hasn't had a single sack. Including when D'Anthony Batiste was blocking him.

Manti would be a good pick too. The Cards could use a playmaker to go with DWash at ILB too.

Manti would be the safest pick IMO, like Peterson was two seasons ago.

I'd take him in a heartbeat and not think twice. This draft is top-heavy with defensive talent.
