We got Lampe.

SteelDog said:Thought I am glad he is making progress, I would be more impressed if he was destroying those guys.
nowagimp said:Yeah, if he could destroy guys in the summer league, then for the National team, then in suns training camp, and then for 82 regular season games, and then for 25 playoff games .... while recovering from a serious knee injury ..... He and the coaching/training staff would be SO DUMB to even try that!!!
SteelDog said:So your saying Amare couldn't destory someone in limited minutes?? He should be. According to Amare he is fully recovered physically and it's mostly mental. If that's the case then his only physical limitation is getting back in basketball shape.
The only point that I am making is, if someone isn't moving very well (meaning that physically maybe there still is some issues) that would account for his fouls. He has a ton of fouls in the last 3 games. That is usually a sign of something not being right.
F-Dog said:I haven't seen any of the games though, so I wouldn't dignify the preceding remark by calling it an 'opinion'.
DeAnna said:I caught 2 games in Vegas this weekend; these were my impressions:
I agree that Amare has improved his passing and ball handling – he was even dribbling with his left hand! He made some soft dunks – nothing explosive. I kept thinking ‘darn, he should be dominating these guys’ but my guess is the coaches have told him to concentrate on his conditioning and passing out of double teams and not worry too much about his stats.
The second game we caught was Monday vs. the Pistons and after the 1st few minutes I commented to hubby that Amare looked tired and winded. He committed 10 fouls!! Someone pointed out that was because he couldn’t keep up with his man and I agree – his lateral movement didn’t seem too good.
I really wanted to root for the Italian point guard but after watching him for 2 games didn’t come away impressed. He’s not much of a shooter but did make some good passes. I thought it was funny that at one point he yelled to Amare ‘here, bambino’ as he passed the ball to him, LoL. He seemed to be getting into Amare’s ear about some things which Amare didn’t seem pleased about.
F-Dog said:my guess is that Amare is futzing around playing 'point center', and his main goal right now is to see how many passes he can bounce off his teammates' chests and foreheads.
Skkorpion said:Denial. Denial. Denial. It worked for Clinton but won't for Amare.
Muggum's post was right on target. Amare is waaay behind where he should be by now.
Without Lampe on the floor, Phoenix doesn't have anyone that can handle LaMarcus in the post.
Outlaw big block on Lampe at the rim...Ooohh, says the crowd.
Lampe steps through the lane and scores over Aldridge, but Outlaw responds with a deep two and Portland is within 11.
Another 3' for Phoenix...again, rotations on defense continue to be very, very poor.
Looks like the comeback bid, led mainly by Outlaw and Roy, is going to come up short. But great effort after the team fell down by as many as 18 in the first half.
