This is how it works.

Someone posts a restaurant of the month, everyone eats there and everyone discusses their dining experience. We begin a rating system and in a few months we are the most recognized authority of online restaurant reviews in the entire Phoenix metro area

Good idea or not?

Great idea! Not sure how many of them I'll be able to go to but it should be pretty interesting.

I recommend picking a restaurant in Chicago in the summer. Too cold for you all to come here in the winter.

I'll be in Chicago next week (Schaumberg actually). Any recommendations?

Used to work in Schaumburg... right across from the Woodfield Mall on Golf Rd. I remember they had just opened a Morton's there (course, you can get that anywhere). There were also some very good Brew Houses (I think Ram was one of them). Champs is always a good spot for pub food, beer and sports on TV... Maggianos is right there as well... And if you really want the Chicago experience, get your ass over to Portillo's for a true Chicago Style Vienna Beef Hot Dog!!! Loved them!!!

Order the hot dog at Portillos: italian beef with hot peppers dipped. And a hot dog with everything.

I met a guy here in Chicago that would rather eat at McD's. I would have punched him if I wasn't so shocked at his stoooooopidness.

Don't get me wrong... Overall, I would say the Chicago food experience is average (this is coming from a NY Italian...) - BUT, when it comes to Portillo's, I could have easily eaten there every day of the week and twice on Sunday! I never once had a bad meal there... And a Hot Dog fully loaded up - well, even the street dogs in NY can't touch that!

Chicago has its good places and nasty places.

I am still amazed at the quality of pizza slices available in New York. I would say Chicago is about like that for hot dogs. Chicago dominates in the category of taco stands.

I'll give that a shot!

Best Pizza in the area????[/quote]

This is easily the biggest source of my disappointment with Chicago food... The Pizza absolutely SUCKS! There is not one decent place at all... Lou Malnotti's? Sucks... Geno's? Sucks worse... I had better Pizza in West Virginia than in Chicago... In fact, Italian food in general in Chicago sucks... sorry Mulli!

I know of two places that do not suck. Most others suck. But I would put what is left of Chicago's Little Italy against the crappola that they still on what is left of Mulberry St.

But the Chicago deep dish pizza. barf.
