For long swaths of Saturday's Big Ten Tournament semifinal for Michigan basketball vs. Maryland, it had appeared that the Wolverines would defeat the Terrapins to advance to the championship game. However, a near seven-minute scoring drought allowed the Terps to climb back into the game, take the lead, and the ebb-and-flow of the game kept swinging back to Maryland.
However, after taking a one-point lead with five seconds left, Maryland let Michigan point guard Tre Donaldson run the length of the court to secure an 81-80 victory. As a result, the Wolverines will play Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game on Sunday afternoon.
Naturally, social media was abuzz following the win. Here are some of our favorite reactions on X (formerly Twitter):

This reminds me of the Big Ten Tournament run by Plane Crash Boys Beilein Era title team. Except the plane crash was the last few weeks of the regular season, which feels about right.

Good for Tre Donaldson. He was statistically the worst starting PG in the Big Ten for the last month. But he’s dynamite the last two nights, and flat out won the game today.

That was a fun one to be a part of! Let’s Go Tre chants in the stadium as he sits on set. @umichbball with a chance at a championship tomorrow.

Dusty May did a petty press tour for three days, then showed up to the Big Ten Tournament and sat courtside scouting his 2nd round opponent before his first game even started, and then won back to back games as an underdog for a trip to the final
I did not see any of this coming

Dusty May is the first men’s basketball coach to reach the Big Ten tournament championship game in his first season since Bruce Weber in 2004, back when the Big Ten only had 11 teams.
