His slider was the best I have ever seen tonight. He was getting a 5-8 foot break, unbelievable!!! At 40 years old no less

96-97-98 all the way to the ninth. He and Hammock were in mind-meld. There was the game of both their careers. Defense was THERE tonight, and this was just amazing.

Hey, RJ can have a rant anytime he wants. And anyone who says anything about trading him now should be shot.

I just thought of some irony.....

Most of you may know that I grew-up in Detroit as a major Tiger fan, but over the past 2 years (since I moved out here) I have completely changed my allegiances to all the AZ sports teams...

Anyways, I remember in '83 when a Tiger pitcher, Milt Wilcox, had a perfect game for 8 2/3 innings against the White Sox and guess who broke that one up? Jerry Hairston..... Scott's father.....

Also, that Johnson's 1st ho-hitter was vs. the Tigers in '90...I remember watching both those games...

Watched the game on TBS!! I made my son quit playing and come in to watch the final 3 outs. I was updating him and the neighbor kid inning by inning! I made my wife watch. Only 18 perfect games in all of the history of baseball! Over 1,000 games played by the Dbacks to get a perfect game!! Also, Randy pitched his 195th double digit strikeout game. The record is 215! Finally, that knee looked OK today!! :D

I watched it on TBS also. What a game, did you notice the announcers kept saying over and over that he got a perfect game going trying to jinx him? The fans in the ATL were even rooting for Randy. They have a lot of class I don't know if I could have neen doing that.

I turned it on bottom of the 9th, 2 outs. First pop foul, I thought it was a hit. I almost jinxed the perfect game.

I apologize.

Great going guys! RJ & Hammock sounded like they were in sync all night. Randy only waved off 4 or 5 pitces called by Robbie.

Awesome! Randy also has the longest span between no hiiters - 14 yrs. Ryan was 9 yrs.

Awesome.

So I get home, and flip on the tube in the second inning. Kinda watching, in and out of the house. By the time I sat down to watch, it was the 4th, no runs, no hits, but lets face it, we're spoiled by RJ, it's business as usual.

Then in the 5th, Gracie starts talking about it being that kind of night for RJ. Thom wouldn't say "perfect game" only talked about "no hitter."

All the balls that were hit, came off the bats really funny looking, and went right to defenders.

I called some people to see if they were watching.

8th inning, pitch count: OK. Velocity: Great. Control: Great.

9th inning: hard to breathe. Last pitch: 98 MPH.

We will never see things like Randy Johnson has done since he's been here, EVER again. Enjoy it while you can.

Yeah, without a doubt a great thing to have seen a perfect game.

This marks only the second time I've noticed Randy smiling. This game and the seventh game of the World Series.

Thanks Randy!
