I hope I'm wrong but it always seems like there's something about Bledsoe that is not being shared with the public.

The way Hornacek said that, it seems like Bledsoe went to him and said "Coach, I'm tried I don't wanna practice again too soon".

This is my concern. I can't imagine Dragic not wanting to practice or play ASAP. My worry is Bledsoe wants to play elsewhere although I have no foundation to base it upon.

I too don't get the hyper competitor spirit kinda vibe from Bledsoe. I went to the recent Suns-Wolves game and not once did Bledsoe clap when his team mates scored, he didn't join huddles, high five guys as they checked in/out, etc. He just sat there like a bump on a log.

For a team that supposedly has remarkable chemistry, he seemed pretty uninvolved. Obviously, it was only 1 game I saw in person, so I don't want to take too much from it. I hope he doesn't have his eye on the exit already.

I don't think Bledsoe wants to get out of PHX because he doesn't like the Suns, I think he wants to be "the man" on some team. And he knows that will never happen here with Dragic on the roster.

Honestly though, he was like that even with the Clippers. A couple of Clippers fans I talked to after we traded for him said that he was always quiet and not really that active off the court. He keeps to himself and is pretty shy. They also said that he rarely ever smiles.

The only guy he's real close with on our team is Archie Goodwin.

I also think something is off, but I really think it's Bledsoe's "people." I don't think they want him to come back this year. His value is as high as it's ever going to be. He has nothing to gain by coming back.

I wouldn't open the vault for a guy with a bum knee that played 24 games.

Just as I was getting my hopes up that Dragic and Bledsoe could be an outstanding backcourt combination, without minimizing the other, comes the realization that Bledsoe wants to be the man. 'Can't blame him, but then Goran is the other half of the equation and he wants to be here.

Oh well, if Goran can continue developing into the next MVSteve and we can put a consistent 20 PPG Guard next to him and strengthen up the low post, that's not too shabby!

exactly. wouldn't surprise me if the Lakers threw booku dinero at him.

That was the often repeated rumor early in the season but I have no idea whether his injury changes anything. He'll be hotly pursued, hopefully we get him or something of value for him.

i think everyone is reading too much into it all. we all want updates, but the front office of these suns are different. we're used to hearing constant and frequent updates on injuries, like when nash, amare or marion went down. we'd hear updates immediately.

Bled is just a bit introverted is all. the suns in general probably don't want to rush him back too soon. I think bled has more to loose than to gain by sitting out the season. With his past injuries and only displaying his talents within 26 games as a starter i don't think there's any team that'd be willing to give him the max, especially with Dragic and crew proving that they can almost still win without him.

i think coach was just saying that he gave him a little advice about the getting past the injury.

I guess it's all how you look at it. I look at it the other way, we've shown that it's a real struggle to win without him. We're playing slightly above .500 against the worst teams in the league. With Bledsoe we were playing .666 ball against the better teams in the league. That's a huge drop-off AFAIC. Against a full season of games I think we'd be lucky to win more than 38 games without Eric.

the sample size is a bit small to be pulling legit stats, coupled with an easier schedule early in the season and taking the league by surprise...its tough to say for sure.

The limited sample size is valid but the early season schedule was much tougher than the January to mid February schedule was. I'm sure we did benefit some from taking the league by surprise but watching the games it's clear we've played much better when Bledsoe and Dragic are both available. Right after Eric went down we went into the lightest stretch of our season and failed to capitalize on it.

Yup. Teams have better scouting reports on us now. We caught the league by surprise at the beginning cause I think most teams thought we would bend over and tank every game.

Even Frye said it earlier this year that teams now take the Suns more seriously and as a result, the games are harder for them.

I agree. But I can almost guarantee that his "people" are telling him something totally different.

Coming back and looking average while trying to get back into the flow isn't going to help his stock. But, on the other hand, he could be the key to a playoff appearance and 1st round upset. (Which would massively raise his stock.)

Will the Lakers have any cap room to make him a big offer?

I'm betting they use the stretch provision on Nash and wipe out his contract which only leaves Kobe's 24 million on the cap for next year. Definitely enough room to be a big player in FA.

They've whipped some really good teams without him too. They seem to struggle against lesser competition.

Sure but isn't that what average to slightly below average teams do? Upset a good team now and then but struggle with many of the lesser opponents?

IMO, without a healthy Eric, we are a slightly below average team although on the nights Dragic plays like a superstar we move a notch higher on that ladder. I think this team, playing without Eric (or Goran) is roughly a 35 to 40 win team and with Bledsoe and Dragic both healthy we're a 50 to 55 win team. I wouldn't want to see what a full season without either of them would look like although the 23 point blowout loss at Utah gave us an unpleasant glimpse.

The loss without theDragon just shows how much of a snub it was that Goran didn't make the allstar team.

I honestly do not believe Goran realized just how good he could be until the last couple of weeks before the All Star game. He'd played well all season for us and was arguably worthy of an All Star spot but the stretch leading up to the All Star game was something else. Had he played like that from the beginning of the season I think he might even have been voted in as a starter and he certainly would have been one of the first added to the team by the coaches.

Guess I should have said in terms of filling in for that last spot, instead of Davis.
