Paramount & Rudin Remaking The Blob
Source: Variety
October 29, 2004

Paramount Pictures and producer Scott Rudin have signed a deal to remake The Blob, the 1958 campy horror classic that launched the star of Steve McQueen, reports Variety.

The film, about a jelly-like substance that crashes from space and grows as it consumes every human in its path, comes to Paramount from Warner Bros. Pictures.

No writer has yet been set for the tale, which will be contemporized. The film remade in 1988 when Frank Darabont wrote the script with Chuck Russell, who directed the movie.

Hollywood is quickly turning into deadwood, IMO. We get constant rechurned storylines that make me pretty sick. Make interesting films. Make NEW films. Napoleon Dynamite. I heart Huckabees. Shaun of the Dead (I know, it's British). Eternal Sunshine. In America. Evelyn. The list goes on and on. Contrary to Hollywood retards that only look to make a quick buck, there ARE new ideas out there.
