Can I get a little love for the master-mind of the New Cardinals?
:newcards:
I just want to say thanks to Mr. Bidwill. To Mr. Michael Bidwill, the real catalyst to this brave new dawn in the desert.

Motivated by love for a step-father who couldn't seem to steer his NFL franchise to success, Michael Bidwill left a bright legal carreer and began his quest to give his father a real NFL franchise.

His was the key task that began the turn; the Cardinals need a Stadium. For the die-hards that remember, Michael ran that campain and the business / legal / logistic issue to ground until he had home for his father's dream. Then Micheal sank the roots deep in the Gledale area. Honored and even loved, he is rising like a comet in Glendale, Valley, and internationally through his humanitarian efforts. I wonder if Jerry Jones even noticed what the President of the Arizona Cardinals was up to in his "off" time.

With the Stadium launched, Michael began to work himself into the leadership of the Cardinals organization, itself. This is where you can really begin to see Michael professional compentence. In his tireless effort to turn this organization into a winner, he had to learn and manuver threw mine-fields of politics, real-estate, construction, and economics / business to finally enable himself to lead his father's business, the NFL Arizona Cardinals.

His finger prints are all over our GM, our head coach, our couching staff, and our greatest season in 10 years. A season that has yeilded a team with the potential to be the greatest ever in it's Arizona history.

I am begining to wonder if there is anything that Michael's love for his father won't let him accomplish.

This is good news for Cardinals fans. I think we may have some of the best front-office leadership in the league. From now on, when you hear someone say, "it all starts in the front office", you can smile and feel real good.

I think Bill Sr is Michael's father -- not step father

maybe you are thinking of the fact that Bill Sr (and his brother) was adopted (and only learned of such after his both his parents died).

Mike B certainly has his faults. Bit of a micro manager. Tends to take an litigator/prosecuter attorney approach to business negotiations --i.e. a competition with a winner and a loser; and he really wants to win it. As a result, he has alienated a number of people in the Valley business scene.

Never the less, much more aggressive than his dad, and clearly wants to win. He has had his growing pains as an NFL owner, but really seems to be getting it now.

Thanks, and yes!

I love the guy and love the fact that he was down on the sidelines this last weekend while the game was still in doubt. He was there to claim credit OR defeat.

How many times have you seen a jerk like Carl Peterson or Jerry Jones go down to the sideline to yuck it up while beating another team with the game in hand? Michael is taking real ownership in this team and I thank him for it

And he also does charity work which shows that he is a genuinely good person as opposed to a phony.

I can tell you that when it was time to select my tickets, he came in to the office and asked my thoughts on everything. The new stadium, the selection process, and the team in general. It showed he cared and wanted to hear how Joe public felt about things. By coincidence my son and I were selected to take a pre- opening tour of the stadium with the Republic, and again he asked everybody what their thoughts were on the franchise. I have over the years spoken with several of the Bidwills and find them to be a nice family. Mike definitely is competitive and I can see that in the change that is taking place.

The franchise seemed to turn aroud when Michael took over. I noticed that several years ago. It takes a long time to turn a franchise around. Kudos to Michael Bidwill.

I have a whole new respect now for Mike after the Bills game.

We were enjoying ourselves as usual on the Great Lawn when I went for my routine walk to soak up the atmosphere and check on the morning games at the KTAR tent (which were off due to technical difficulties..boo!). I look up and there's Michael Bidwill so I said hi and shook his hand. He wanted to know if I was having a good time which I proudly let him know I was.

Fast forward to a couple minutes later and I'm back with the crew and here comes Mike our way. Well, next to us was a large group with a mix of Card/Bills fans and some that outwardly showed no allegiance to either. Wouldn't you know it, one of them starts talking smack to Bidwill from afar. Lo and behold Michael beelined straight to the center of the group. Not confrontational, just proud and wanted to discuss face to face "any concerns". Needless to say the jackass didn't have much to say face to face and it was all smiles as the Cards fans in the group got photos taken, etc.

That was stand up in my book and I want Michael to know I've got his back in fandom when needed!
