We all dance around it. Will the Cardinals contend for the Playoffs and/or the NFC West this year? For that to happen, the team needs stars. There seems to be good depth, and the Cardinals already have a good start in Fitz, Bolden, Dansby, & AW. The team , for the first time in a long time, has a lot of "maybe" stars in Leinart, L Jones, and A Rolle. I am drinking the kool-aid. HC K Whiz will get a 2008 honeymoon. If some rookie from this team doesn't become an immediate contributor and Playoff caliber in 2 -3 yrs, it will put HC Whiz on the hot seat in 2009. The 2008 Draft will have a ultimately dteermine Whiz' fate.

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say "stars". Does the Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot of stars? Did the Tennessee Titans? The Washington Redskins? Heck, the New York Giants?

The Cards have arguably Top 15 talents at their positions in Dansby, Dockett, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Wilson, and Hood. They don't get recognition not because they're not good, but because the Cards haven't been successful.

Good players make a playoff team, but success turns really good players into "stars." No one knows that Andre Johnson is one of the Top 5 or 8 wideouts in the NFL because the Texans have sucked for so long.

The Dallas Cowboys have tons of stars. They had like 15 Pro Bowl players last season. That didn't keep them from washing out of the first round of the playoffs.

I disagree. I think we have "stars" or at the least one above average player at every level of both offense and defense. What the team needs is depth and role player who fit in with those stars.

No, the drafts before he even got here will also play out how his tenure will be here.

Obviously, they feel they are close. They felt they should have been better last year allready than 8-8.

The talent is allready there, they need to be more consistent and that's where we're going to see this team develop before out eyes, this year. Some wins are going to come ugly, and some will be outright like the Rams game last year.

Perhaps we should pool our money.

Seriously, I agree we have stars of the same level on average of other teams: Boldin, Fitzgerald, AW, KD talent wise, and Leinart charisma wise (sort of like a millenium Namath). We just need to make a deep run into the playoff consistantly before they are recognized for what they are.

The Cards need stars on defense instead of pretending to have a clue. Berry made the probowl and Wilson too, Dockett creeped in there as an an alternate.

But Rolle (super rook) and Green have been a bust. Ya Rolle might be a safety or whatever, but what I see is the Cards being mismatched by pro offenses because the Cards don't have personel. Hood has outshown them both.

What my arguement is, the Cards try to play players out of position hoping to land a pro defense in the National Football League. Ain't crapping 'en.

artp, you shook up some feathers, just what we need. But the Cards have a good team this year, but with all the 1 year contracts and little cap room, who knows? We could be like the Marlins when they won it.

The Cardinals need to win and they're as primed as they've ever been to get there.

If stars will do it, fine.

Hell, if pink skirts will do it, fine.

I guess he plays next to Levi Jones!

:biglaugh:

I was right there with you guys.. I actually almost went to find the roster to see who L Jones was.. I dont know if Levi is who is talking about.. When was the last time a O lineman was a star? But then again after reading (at least trying) his post, he could be saying anything..

Maybe Nick has some old incriminating photos or vids of jessica that could be plastered on the screen in the stadium for Tony's viewing pleasure.

BTW, :BIM: Your sig is all messed up and it's driving me nuts. What you are trying to say is "I am your favorite poster's favorite poster."

The Arizona Cardinals do have start power. The problem with the Cardinals is that they shoot themselves in the foot every time. Good teams do not shoot themselves in the foot. You can have star offensive lineman in the league. Will Sheilds retired from the Chiefs. Their offensive line hasn't been the same. Watch the effect Jothan Odgen will have on the Ravens offensive line when he retires this season.
