When or if they do not draft Shorty McMurray.

The crowd and talking heads go berserk.
Shorty drops out of top 10
Other QBs move up and the run on them starts.

Dream on.... right?

Dream on would be to trade down and still get him. What if the Raids trade up to take a defender to replace Mack? Suppose they loves them some Bosa so much.

Or they draft Murray and he kills it here instead of another team taking him and while watch his highlights for the next decade, like pretty much every other star player to come through the league.

We will look like idiots if we don't draft this kid, because he will be a star in the NFL. People on this board that didn't want him as the #1 will eat crow, but will move on. The Cardinals will be at best a mediocre franchise moving forward & older fans like myself will go to our graves never having seen a Super Bowl Championship. Oh well, such is life. There are far more important things in life than football.

If they draft him #1 and he is great I will eat some crow, but I never said he can't be great, just that his risk reward profile is such a gamble to me it's a reach at #1 overall, especially considering we drafted a QB first round last year. If we didn't have a QB it would be a different story, but we do so you have to put it in the context of how much of a guaranteed upgrade you expect him to be and is that worth the price. I don't think it is.

We have a chance to draft a D player that is much more of a lock to build us up IMO. I think the lifelong crow eating would come from the Murray evangelicals if we spend a #1 on him, he's a bust and for the cherry on top Rosen plays well with another franchise. Not predicting that outcome, but just saying that would put the Murray Rosen deal in the the top of bad moves in recent history.

Fortunately we don't have to spend three #1 picks to acquire him. :sarcasm:

Also agreed. I just think we end up with a bunch of egg on our face in the situation where he isn't a star. Even if he's just Mariota good, we'll have made a big mistake.

I do understand fans who want the instant win, but I just want this team to be respectable year in and year out. Something where I can watch them play and think we have a chance with the ball bouncing the right way.

Instead of Hail Marys and prayers.

It’s funny because Murray is statistically taller than the average American by an inch .

Yeah if only we had a couple QBs under 6 ft that have been successful in the league...
