The Suns lose again to the Spurs in the playoffs.

The Suns' failure to win a championship is getting more and more absurd. The Suns have been in the NBA for 40 years and have never won a single championship. Look how many championships the Spurs, Lakers, and Celtics have won in their history. One of those three teams will likely win the NBA championship this season.

Suns fans should demand nothing less than a championship. The Suns' futility makes them the Chicago Cubs of the NBA.

is the first round of the playoffs a 1 game series???? wow this is news to me
I know this is one game, but the Suns should have won this game. How could they give up game-tying three-pointers, one to a player who hadn't hit a three-pointer all season, at both the end of regulation and at the end of the first overtime, and how could they give up the winning points on an uncontested layup at the end of the game?

It will appear to me that the Suns will likely be demoralized by this loss.

I read today.... and to be honest was a bit shocked to learn that winners of the first game go on to win the series..... 79% of the time.

No, the stat is that the Game 1 winner advances 83% of the time. I think it's closer to 100% here though. Same old Suns.

Why can't the Suns win a title, while the Spurs win so many?

How exactly do you propose we make this "demand"? Here: I demand it! What's going to happen?
If the Spurs can win four championships, and have a good chance to win a fifth, why can't the Suns win even one?

Why can't the Suns be more like the Spurs? I find it particularly appalling that the Suns can't win a single championship while teams like the Spurs and Lakers can win multiple championships. Why can't the Suns be more like championship teams rather than losing teams?

Perhaps the Suns need to get rid of their coach and all of their players, and get a coach like Popovich and players like Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker, and develop a system like the Spurs that wins championships. If the Spurs can do it, why can't the Suns?

Have the Suns ever in their history built a strong defensive team?

I'm asking because I really don't know. The big difference I see is that the Suns always seem to be a score first team, and I think that's their problem. All those teams with multiple championships have been built around a slightly slower paced game, half court, with swarming defense. The Suns are built to be "fun to watch" like the Kings of 7 years ago, the Warriors, The Mavs, etc. None of those teams have a shot at a title though, it's all about defense.

To me, Boston is the favorite this year for that exact reason.
