My main point is , CJs price went waay up sine TJ’s contract. AZ has lost almost any leverage they thought they had outside of the franchise tag. Keim screwed up…again.
Keim holds all the cards (no pun) and he knows it. It's why he was in no rush to get anything done this off season.
I don't blame Keim. CJ was poor in the 4 games he played before injury last year. We did that with DJ and suffered the consequences.
Jones will be 32 just after the Super Bowl. Keim can tag out the rest of his career is need's be and still come in under the numbers being thrown around for an extension. And he gets the luxury of playing each year by ear. If CJ has a sudden drop off he has no commitments.
It was the right move in my opinion from a purely business perspective.
With that in mind a fair contract would be 3/60/40
