I agree. Something is causing him pain and discomfort in his shoulder at certain points. It’s obviously not nothing.

I've said he reminds me of Steve Finley (but a little better)...some have mentioned Ichiro and I can see that, too. But now with the drag bunt hits, he's showing some Brett Butler flash. It seems like Butler was still dropping drag bunts for base hits into his 40's...and he'd do it on any count.

I saw someone online comparing Finley's swing to Carrol's. Almost the same thing.

Finley was a really good player and they do have similar skill sets and a similar swing... and it is absolutely wild that Carroll is on pace to have a better season than any season in Finley's borderline HOF worthy career.

If he stays healthy, I fully expect him to blow the Finley comp out of the water.

Once he starts to get a better feel for big league breaking stuff I think his batting average is going to have another jump.
