The death of "Superman Lives." What happened?

This is currently running on HBO, documentary about the failed Superman Lives movie starring Nicholas Cage.

This documentary was fascinating! So interesting to hear some of the behind the scenes of Hollywood and how completely insane some of the producers are. Hearing about the bizarre antics of Jon Peters is worth the viewing alone.

All the minutia of how a movie comes together, planning out costumes, rewrites, casting, concept art, more rewrites!!!! and finally how quickly it can all unravel even after millions have been invested!!!??? To an outsider like me it was really interesting.

Shows that there is way more to the story than the one aweful picture of Nick Cage in the suit...

Fun stuff.

I came away with this as well. I actually ended up wanting to have seen what Tim Burton, and crew, had cooked up for this.

Me too. There were some pretty awesome ideas floating around. Tim Burton still wants to make it.

Did they mention that Peters got his break because he was a hairdresser who had a relationship with (read: sleeping with) Barbara Streisand?

He was pretty much a joke and tabloid fodder...until he wasn't. Gotta love Hollywood.

Indeed they did. Of all of the folks featured in this film, Peters came off as being the least deserving to be involved in the Hollywood machine.
