After much research I have a disturbing item that may need minor mention. Winners are most important to bring to a team. It is true, however that six of our seven draft picks were losers in their final big college game.

Only Virginia tech was on the winner legend in the bowl game. All others lose. We must learn a way to instill a new attitude to these players. Then our mock draft will be successful for sure.

You have entirely too much time on your hands. A good/great player can be on a bad team (and vice versa). Its up to our scouts/coaching staff to give them individual grades not grading them based on their college teams performance.

WTF?? I'm seriously about to blow a gasket here. Why do you nitpick stats so much??

Such negativity. What, do you think because they lost a bowl game, that they are going to be crying in their Wheaties 8 months later??

USC--12-1
Georgia--10-3
Michigan--7-5
Louisville--9-3
VTech--11-2
BYU--6-6

We are drafting players that are winners. Bottom line.

I'd kind of agree with him, if he hadn't made his parameters so rigid.

Sure, you can get good players from losing college programs. However, I do like the idea of bringing winners onto this team. That's the type of attitude we want.

The Michigans, OSUs, FSUs, Miamis.........almost like a Minor league for the NFL.

But to claim that this draft is full of losers, just because they lost their final bowl game, is a tad silly.

So the draft last month was all a fake?

But my point is you don't ignore better talent because a player is sitting there who was on a winning program. Its the individual player that is graded not their teams won/loss record. I would say this--if 2 players are graded the same I'd take the player out a big time program first.

100% of all draft busts drink water, eat bread and breathe Oxygen.

I hope DG cuts all that out up in TC....or we are in for a long season.

Big program players know what it's like to play under pressure. This kid Cutler has the skills, but has he ever played in a game with 30 million people watching him that meant something?

Leinart has played in all the biggest games in college football the last two years. He knows how to handle pressure -- whether playing against Notre Dame or hanging with Paris!!

My opinion on Cutler was generally that rule didn't apply to him. He played in the SEC....which is pretty much the most scrutinized league in Division I.

I didn't really apply his W-L record....the way I did to Jacobs.

Call me a hypocrite, but for Cutler, being preseason ALL SEC, and getting that big win over Tennessee made me think we should look real hard at him. With that said, damn happy Leinart got over scrutinized and fell all the way to us. Still, I would never believe that would have happened.

While you're at it, could you please check out:

- The percentage of draft picks and UDFA's whose middle names start with a letter earlier than "L"

- How many rookies date blonds vs. brunettes or redheads

- Name of Pet Dogs - "Human" type names (i.e. Fred, Max, Cleo etc.) vs. "Pet type names (i.e. Spot, Fido, Bandit etc.)

- Colors of Shirts.

- Unlucky Birthdays

- 4-Door vs. 2-Door vs. Bike.

I'm sure you can ferret out some interesting (& useless) information out of all this.

Because it is my job and numbers and historical data is the best predictor of future behavior and results. It is able to determine when a death or accident will happen for each driver or healthy person if you look in deep.

Good lord. I'll bet you one thousand dollars there is no correlation between how a player's team fares in his last bowl game and future NFL performance.

One game is not a big enough sample size to make such a determination. You might as well sau that players whose team win the sixth games of their season are more likely to become winners in the NFL. Absolutely asinine.

So...Joey Harrington wins the fiesta bowl and brings a "winning" attitude to the lions...Ken Dorsey wins the Rose bowl and is lighting it up fer the 49ers.....Rex Grossman crushes the Terps in the orange bowl and is really having folks in Chicago say "hey we have a winner"...

Sorry but put me in the "skeptical" group regarding yer analysis on this subject.

Agreed. This guy just joins and is already the most negative person on the board.
