The Cards have made a few things clear. They have enough to win the Super Bowl before this pick. There is no issue with front office job security.

I've always believed that first you win a Super Bowl then you work toward building a dynasty. The Cards have chosen to go straight to step 2.

Williams is draftable and both the Texans and the Pats had him in for private workouts. They liked him but not enough to forego helping their current team.

This is another personality. He and NK should hit it off. He chose to move to corner so he didn't have to depend on others for his success. Again this guy is a great athlete. He may develop into a decent corner, but it will be 2 years from now if he does. When you take a player like that you give up 2 years of control. That rarely makes sense. Try to put him on the practice squad and some non-contender may grab him.

I know everyone things I'm being to negative but I just don't get it.

2 years as a special teams ace and 2 as a corner? As others have mentioned, they are probably grooming him yup come along like Bethel.

I think he can be a gunner on special teams until he's ready to contribute at DB. Veteran defensive backs are on the free agent market, and more will come. They'll come for the opportunity to get 6 INTs and 12 passes defended while earning a high-seven figure deal next year.

Yes, you are being too sure of yourself and too negative... [emoji109]

NE took Cyrus Jones in Round 2, why would they do that if they were high on Williams? My guess if they felt he would have been a reach there. Keim feels he was one of the few guys that can play on the outside with his size and speed, that may be true but he probably isn't going to be starting at CB next year because he is extremely raw and will be picked apart by opposing OC's. I think ARZ is going to copy the CAR / SEA model of a strong front 7 and have long, speedy guys on the outside (PP & BW) playing press with Matthieu roving in coverage.

Hopefully they can add a speedy ILB and another pass rusher to help whomever starts between Bethel and Williams by not allowing QB's to have all day in the pocket to feast on the lack of coverage skills between those two.

Have to look a little farther than just DB Harry. This kid is a former RB who has 4.3 forty speed straightaway. He also is a sure tackler. He is a perfect candidate to be our gunner on STs right away, and can gradually work his way into our secondary. Very valuable and multi talented prospect and, (I feel), a very wise choice. He has the length and athleticism to become a very good DB, if he can learn the position. We have the coaches and on-field mentors to be able to help him learn.

Have you been watching the Seahawks pick? They are going to be much better than last year. Can we really afford these kind of picks now? I just think we should be drafting players that are ready to play tomorrow and we know what we have. Are we in a wait and see mode that I am not aware of?

If I hired like this, taking only high risk candidates - I would be dead broke- but maybe BASK are charmed. like the slobbering love affair with Logan Thomas, cards left better prospects all over the draft.

What's so great about Seattle's picks? Ifedi's a project, Reed was passed by 48 times, Prosise is a backup, and Vannett is meh.

Chandler Jones and Nkemdiche are way better than anything Seattle has done.

Somewhere along the line, I think we'll hear that another team was very close to taking this 7th round talent so the Cardinals had to act STAT. That's what we were told with Logan Thomas, as I recall, and no one else ever raised their hand to say, yep, we wanted him in the 4th round, too.

I think Team BASK got played. I don't like our first pick (too many uncertainties), love who we got for our second (character is still a concern, but at least he's proven his chops), and think we could have gotten this player three rounds later. Even he said he was surprised to go so high.
