Lets see what Toler can do before we cut a guy who also was good on specials. The punt coverge seemed to tighten up when the Cards inserted Adams as a gunner.

Another one could very well be Chike, who is making more than Edge this season IIRC.

I actually think Ralph Brown, rather than Adams, is on the bubble due to 3rd rounder Rashad Johnson. And I liked Ralph last year. My logic is that our 6 DB package is DRC, McFadden, Hood, Wilson, Rolle and R Johnson. Adams plays on game day as a special teamer and the seventh DB. I think Franciso also plays ST and is the 8th DB option (emergency-only)

Man, do we have depth!

Long way to go yet, but that's my first thought.

Adams was a good st'er. Same with Fransisco. Fransisco will stay at SS now and Rashod will backup FS. Rolle will be pushed by this kid IMO.

Chike is on the bubble because of his cap number I think.

Chike and Edge are the biggest financial obligations, by cutting them both, we save over $10M in cap space. That money could then be used to sign Wilson at the very least, which would help out the FO tremendously. Edge is gone for sure, not too positive on Chike's situation.

The only way Chike gets cut is if Brown and/or Davis are further along then expected. We just don't have enough OLB depth right now.

Yup. He's on the roster. He's a starter. His contract will stay intact. He hasn't had the degree of injury problems Berry did that forced his renego-sh.

Edge will save $5 mil. Any new deals for any combination of Wilson/Boldin/Dansby would obviously save more, but I don't think we can hold our breath that long.

The FO never rushes these things, and things have been turning out alright. So patience is the key to holding our sanity.

I heard Whiz on Bickley and MJ and he said nothing would be done till the end of the week.

He said that the staff gets together the next several days, reviews the roster, makes decisions about packages and who fits where, and then decides if there are extra personnel on the roster.

He said that we could expect a decision by Friday while not specifically mentioning Edge.

Somers newest article in the paper this morning talks about the next two days of personel meetings the club will be having. Mentioned the possibility of Edge being cut becuase of this meetings of course but he also implied, based on quotes from Graves that there will also be a few other cuts before the first Mandatory camp this weekend. Which pretty much goes with the trend of teams cutting a few guys after the draft and before the offseason workouts really start.

So we know for sure one of them will be Edge.

Another one that screams out at you is Fransisco for many reasons - signed a special teams replacement in Keith Lewis, drafted a nickel package replacement in Rashad Johnson, big contract and would save lots of cap space, Super Bowl was the straw that broke the camels back for Pendy's job could it have also done the same for Fransisco?

Can also see one of the LB's. 13 of them are on the roster as we speak, that is a lot even for a 80 man offseason roster. Hobson seems like the most likely if the team wants the best cap space savings.

I have a strong feeling Chike is going to restructure or get cut.

Which worries me becasue I wish we had more LB depth both on the inside or outside.

Can't we just for once bring in a one year stop gap solution in Jason Taylor to help? Incentive based deal might work and then JT can be close to LA for soap operas and such.
