Release Date: May 10, 2013 (3D/2D theaters)
Studio: Warner Bros. Pictures
Director: Baz Luhrmann
Screenwriter: Baz Luhrmann, Craig Pearce

Plot Summary: "The Great Gatsby" follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

There isn't anything about this movie that makes me want to see it..

Forced against my will to read the book in high school lit. Hated it. Hated Gatsby. West Egg? What the heck kind of a name for a place is West Egg? Finding out there was an East Egg made it even worse.

I'll watch it on cable. Maybe. If it's 3am and I can't sleep and I'm out of Nyquil.

Saw it and it was better than I expected. Visually it is quite spectacular.

Good film "old sport". It took a while to get used to the visuals (and the music), but once I did I thought it was spectacular too.

I was glad to see they stuck pretty close to the book.

I won't say how terrible I thought this was.

My favorite terrible part was when he was raining down all his shirts on her and it was fun at first but then it started going too far, the mood darkened and she's like "No Jay stop, too many shirts, please no, too,,, many,,, shirts!" cut music, fall down, queue somber mood! LOL

Really powerful stuff. :p

I hate it when you are throwing shirts at a girl and it goes too far.
