Hallmark Programming Exec Lisa Hamilton Daly Out as Position Is Eliminated

Crazy how several actors/actresses were allegedly thrown under the bus due to their age. Especially Lacey Chabert and Holly Robinson Peete.

LOL at this thread
Hey, a lot of us are married and have seen or still see a lot of Hallmark content. More than a few of us have been watching a film in theaters and said "Hey, I think that actor was in a Hallmark movie." Plenty to discuss. I was actually surprised there wasn't a thread about Hallmark and rather than make it just about a critical article I thought I'd open it up for anything Hallmark.

Can you elaborate?

I'd love to see discussion about Hallmark programming and who likes what and why. Obviously I'd lose interest if it just becomes a rant fest about Penny Perry or Lisa Hamilton day and such.
I've worked at the Hallmark Channel for 12 years. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Hallmark isn't exactly part of the sports fan's lexicon.

And as of now, there has been a lot of turnover, plus the lawsuit nonsense, and the GAC stuff from a couple years ago.
Understood. Like I said though, I'd love to see more discussion about Hallmark movies and tv shows. We don't watch any of their TV stuff other than When Calls the Heart but we watch a lot of the movies. And we're always on the lookout for a Hallmark or Hallmark-ish film recommendation.

The Way Home is pretty popular, and is probably going to overtake When Calls at some point in popularity. And we went all out on Christmas programming in 2024 -- a lot of new series including a christmas themed mystery series.

Chap, you still at Hallmark?
Yep, in fact, I'm back permanent now since New Year's day.

For context, I was at Hallmark in LA, and during the pandemic I moved to Texas -- in 2022, they sent me a nice letter on a Sunday night telling me to move back or I'm fired. The executives put a stop to that, but I had to go temp in 2023 and then contractor in 2024, but still working there. They figured out how to make Texas work, and now I'm back as a full timer.

How did "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" do? Decent ratings/reviews? Kinda wanted to check that out as a guilty pleasure but never did.

Yeah… I remember you mentioning something about the move might pose a problem there. Stoked for you that it worked out and you gotta be great at what you do for that kind of long-term partnership with any entity in our biz. Congrats dude.

Pretty well. We did a merch tie-in with the NFL, but I don't think that did all that great. But the movie was good. Most of our Christmas movies do well, even those not involving the NFL.

Thanks man. Still pretty cool to say I'm an executive at the Hallmark Channel.

Great move to give Jodie Sweetin her own series. She's been in a few Hallmark movies over the years, but by her getting her own series it means Candace Cameron Bure's on-screen little sister is filling her shoes in a way, although they are very different socially/politically. I remember Sweetin was upset when one of her previous movies was picked up by GAF.

This is pretty much what I'm running at the company from an Operations perspective. I dabble in a few other non-linear things, but I'm mainly focused on Hallmark+, which is our Netflix.

FYI for anyone that doesn't know, BIM is talking about a movie series called The Jane Mysteries.
