yep, he truly is a great kid. His mental makeup is just perfect for NFL QB.

Of course I was pimping Sean Taylor not that long ago so what the hell do I know?

:(

Russ - Taylor maybe a bit of a head case but I think that he is on the verge of a breakout season with Washington so you still have time on that. I think he is a loyal tough minded, bada$$ froma tough upbrining rather than criminal. And in a defensive player that hits - thats what you want.

There is about a month old Micheal Smith article on the guy that is VERY interesting. Great read if you have not had a chance to check it out yet

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp06/columns/story?columnist=smith_michael&id=2546843

Still i am reminded of that quote by Clinton Portis. He said Taylor was by far "The craziest guy ever to come out of the U"...thats really saying something

Great article thanks I hadn't seen that. I do agree he's the best safety in football, but I hope he really has grown up.

Let's face it, compared to Clarett, the man is a saint. God now ESPN is reporting that Clarett has been getting death threats from a member of an Israeli mob organization, that bankrolled Clarett prior to the draft in exchange for 60% of Clarett's rookie contract. When he got cut and couldn't pay off, the guy cut off Clarett and has been threatening him ever since, which apparently is why he had all the guns and a bullet proof vest when arrested!

I truly believe Matt Leinart is going to win multiple Super Bowls and be one of the biggest superstars in the game. I still can't believe we actually got him. This guy, this one guy, is going to have allof Phoenix eating out of the palm of his hand within two years when he makes the Cardinals a perennial... wait for it... not playoff contender... but freaking Super Bowl contender.

He's just got greatness written all over him. Kind of like Amare, pre-injury. God-damn micro-ffracture! We would have had the greatest QB in the NFL and the best bigman int he NBA playing in the same damn city! (yeah, getting a little ahead of myself here - Matt hasn't thrown a pass and we haven't seen what we have from Amare, but hey, at least we've got one of those guys!)

I can't wait for the season to get started, but more importantly, I can't wait for NEXT season to get started - bring on the... I NEVER thought I'd get to say this... FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK ERA!!!!!!!!

He is what he is. A promising rookie QB, with a lot of poise and apparent leadership skills who hasn't thrown a ball as a pro.

And (did I mention?) is very very rich.

A low blow was when that was my signature. Just like giving Cheese a hard time because that original post was so completely out of character. We all make huge blunders when it comes to evaluating our teams - feel free to research my past jocking of Marcel Shipp and Ray Thompson as examples of such.

Heck, I went on record somewhere stating that Plummer would be the best QB in the game after we drafted him. That's why I'm not making any proclomations about Leinart. :)

Don't feel too bad, there were a few games where he was the best QB.
