Is there a way to make to where you can ignore someone in certain forums, and not in others?

Nope - sorry. Ignore list is across the board. Can't be separated by forum.

Is there a way to block certain people from being able to PM you? (seriously)

Only if you put them on your ignore list. But then their posts on the board will show up with the ignore notice as well.

As far as PMs go, if you put someone on ignore:

  • All previous PMs will be collapsed with an ignore notice (but you can still click to view them)
  • After they on your ignore list - you will not see the PM or any notification that they tried to send you a PM.
  • The sender will not receive any notice that the PM was rejected. From their point-of-view, it was just never replied to.
Hope that helps.

Weird. I put someone on ignore once, and still got PMs from that person...this was a few months ago...If it becomes a problem again, I'll try again. Thanks for the info.

If someone on your ignore list sends you a PM, and later you remove them from your ignore list, will their PM be visable at that point or is it lost forever?

Nope. If a user is on your ignore list, their PM never hits your inbox. It goes to the same place as the matching sock that your dryer eats.

I don't think that PM's get deleted. It says something like, "User is on ignore list, click to view" or something like that. Once you take them off of your ignore list, you should be able to view the PM normally, right?

Not exactly. If you have received a PM from someone before you put them on ignore, the PM is collapsed with the ignore message.

If you put them on ignore, you won't receive any notice that they sent you a PM.

If you take them off the ignore list, then the old PMs can be viewed normally, but you won't see any PMs sent to you while they were on ignore.
