Avi Arad Talks About Hulk 2
Source: Total Film
January 8, 2005

Avi Arad talked recently talked to Total Film magazine about Hulk 2:

Bigger action, smaller Hulk in sequel says Avi Arad.

February's Total Film magazine features some new information from Marvel's Avi Arad. He confirms that Hulk 2 is in progress, and a few intriguing changes that will be made from the first film.

"In the next movie, Hulk 2, the Hulk will be smaller. If you make him 15-feet tall, there's no human connection there.....Right now we are still developing the sequel. I think the key thing is to come up with the right story."

The article also says we are promised, 'less angst and a lot more Hulk smashing,' and that Bruce Banner will become more comfortable with his big green side.

they messed up Hulk in the first movie. It was way too fake looking. And why was his head so small. Hulk sucked.

Yeah, I think my idea is a little more realistic, plus the movie would come in way under budget.

Sweet. There are a lot of good angles with Emil Bronsky (the guy's name who becomes the abomination).

They totally should do Hulk in the style they've taken to using in the Ultimates . . . probably a bit to . . . umm . . . adult . . . for a movie, though . . .

LOUIS LETERRIER TO DIRECT MARVEL STUDIOS' THE INCREDIBLE HULK

LOS ANGELES (July 20, 2006) – Continuing its strategy to independently develop and produce a new slate of feature films, Marvel Studios - a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: MVL) - has signed top rising director Louis Leterrier to direct a new big screen adaptation of The Incredible Hulk, based on the legendary Marvel Super Hero. The announcement was made today by Michael Helfant, President/COO of Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, President of Production for Marvel Studios.

Leterrier recently directed Transporter 2, which opened at the top of the box office earlier this year, as well as the critically-acclaimed Unleashed, starring Jet Li, Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins.

The Incredible Hulk will return to the roots of the long-running comic series, combining a well-developed character storyline with incredible action and fun. Zak Penn, who previously collaborated with Marvel on X2 and this summer's smash hit X-Men: The Last Stand, is writing the script. The project is being produced by Avi Arad, Kevin Feige and Gale Ann Hurd and will be executive produced by Michael Helfant and Ari Arad. Marvel Studios will begin casting immediately. No release date has been set.

"Leterrier has a tremendous passion for this genre and shares our vision for the new direction of the Incredible Hulk franchise, one of the gems of the Marvel Universe," said Kevin Feige. "We are very excited to be working with such a talented director to bring one of our pre-eminent Super Hero franchises back to the big screen, and we are certain that he will bring the Hulk to life in a way that will appeal to a mass audience as well as the core Super Hero fan base."

Leterrier will be formally introduced during a Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con International on Saturday, July 22.

Universal will distribute the Incredible Hulk domestically and in various international territories. This project, the second feature film to be produced independently by Marvel Entertainment, is expected to be financed through Marvel's $525 million revolving film financing facility.

Hulk Director Answers Fans' Questions
Source: Advanced Dark
February 2, 2007

The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier is answering fans' questions at the Superhero Hype! message boards and has already revealed a few items on the new movie, scheduled for a June 27, 2008 release.

Leterrier said that the role of Bruce Banner, played by Eric Bana in the first film, is close to being filled and the rest of the cast will follow soon after. "Thunderbolt" Ross is the main villain with Emil Blonsky (aka Abomination) not far behind. The Hulk will be CGI with prosthetics used in certain scenes where needed. The title character will also show feats of strength.

I think I was one of the only people on the planet that liked "The Hulk". Having him 15' tall went right along with the comics.

I'm just glad that Ang Lee isn't directing the sequel.

Man, did the original BLOW. Character development sucked, although Bana was okay. The hulk was pretty much a cartoon, and it was so forgettable as a genre piece that it is disappointing. I mean, if you can make a good comic book movie nowadays, you have struck gold. This was not one of those good comic book movies.
