If the rumors of signing Carlos Salcido are true, I most definitely will be rooting for Liverpool :)

These threads are only for PREMIERSHIP teams. Since you must have been demoted to the CHAMPIONSHIP to play Newcastle in the league, you must be...wait, what was that? Special wire for swd? It reads: 'Get with the time, loser...Newcastle was promoted back to the PREMIERSHIP...you've been OWNED!'? Okay, we'll get that message to him right away.

They were good but don't get carried away. Liverpool were VERY poor last night. I hope they finish above the scum but behind Arsenal this season.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini expects Robinho to leave the Premier League club before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Mancini says he would be happy if Robinho remains at City but believes the Brazil forward, who was sent on loan to Santos last season, "wants to play in Italy or Spain."

Mancini said Roque Santa Cruz could join Italian side Lazio, which is reportedly looking to sign the Paraguay striker.

Both players could struggle for first-team opportunities this season at City, which spent heavily in the transfer market. Robinho and Santa Cruz have until Tuesday to find new clubs before the transfer window closes.

City does a lot of stupid spending. Espcially w all the strikers whom theyrew prob not going to get half the money back on. All the sweeter when we see them fall :)

good win for city - not the best performance for Chelsea ..... part of the problem when having such an easy run to start the season

Derby? What derby?

United and City fans are licking their lips in anticipation of next week’s Manchester derby, but Mike Phelan says Reds players and coaches have barely given it thought.

Instead, the focus is on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ visit to Old Trafford – their second in 12 days – on Saturday.

“The next game is the most important game,” Phelan told reporters at United’s Carrington training base on Friday morning. “We know how difficult it can be if you take your eye off the ball. Wolves are our next opponent and we know it’s a tough proposition.”

Mick McCarthy brought Wolves to OT last month for a Carling Cup fourth round tie and his side were perhaps unlucky to lose the match 3-2. They certainly showed enough to convince Phelan that three points this Saturday is no foregone conclusion.

“Wolves have started to play some seriously good football over the last month and they’ve taken good teams to the edge. Here in the Carling Cup they got the ball down and played some terrific football. We know exactly what a Mick McCarthy team is capable of.”

United 3-1
