I wonder if ARZ should go all in and make an offer for Darvish and another reliever. Darvish is a FA this offseason so no long term $$$ to deal with and anyone not named Pavin Smith is expendable. Maybe we can snag Bud Norris from ANA, he is also a rental but having a very good season closing for the Halos.
Grabbing Yu would be a big addition, but I don't know that we have the players to make a deal with TEX. Also, our SP are doing well enough as a rotation to make the FO look for production elsewhere.
I was thinking that if ARZ gets to the NLCS or WS where the rotations shrink (Greinke, Ray & Darvish), guys like Corbin, Walker and Godley would basically shift to bull pen and if we get Norris we should be set. TEX won't get much I think because word is they are going to pursue Darvish this offseason anyway if he gets traded. Maybe they have a hand shake deal in place. Forgot about Duplantier but he's already 23 years old still in A ball so kind of leery about his numbers.Grabbing Yu would be a big addition, but I don't know that we have the players to make a deal with TEX. That is the only positive about not having a strong farm, teams with better farms have to overpay. If LA balks at giving up top prospects, TEX could just hold on to Darvish but maybe ARZ could offer anyone except Smith and TEX knowing they could get back Darvish in FA may take lesser touted prospects from us to lend us Darvish for 3 months, especially if they save the $4M left on Darvish contract this year. You must be registered for see images attach
