....the more I want to move Amare.

Amare has NO intensity or focus in his eyes and he hasn't changed his game since the changes he made from year 2 to 3. He is a loafer and he only shows emotion when he pounds his chest after making a dunk in traffic.

I was probably the first poster here to say that we should move Amare (you guys can fact check me on that) and now I am moving HARD into a position that I think the Suns NEED to move him. After watching him get raped by Kenyon Martin last night and then abused by Jefferson tonight, I can say outright that I am SICK of him being considered a premiere player for this team.

He has the physicality, the talent and the skill set to do all the BS he spouts every offseason. He's always yapping about how he's improved this or that and he's going to be some revolutionary player only to go out and prove that he is still a 3rd year complimentary player. He is the Dominique Wilkins of PFs, only 'Nique was better and more intense.

So, you look at Shaq and you see a smoldering focus in his eyes and an intensity in his game. And, what's amazing is that he is SO fundamentally sound and deliberate and patient and ever-improving. Amare's psychology is what it is at this point and he doesn't have the drive that the true great players do, yet he is regarded and PAID like the greats.

I would rather trade him for a collection of players that add to the depth and cohesiveness of the team rather than deal with his ass anymore....

Kenyon Martin did most of his damage with Amare on the bench last night. Not to mention he shot like 40%.

AL Jefferson was guarded by Amare on probably around 7 of his shots and he made 4 of them. The double was also late most of the time.

But continue to blame him. I want him traded now just so I can see him **** up the Suns.

Suns fans are some of the dumbest people around. They latch on to frauds like Nash while pointing out every single mistake Amare does.

When he is beasting out there, you might see 1 or 2 posts. When he messes up, you will see about 8-9 posts.

Its getting pathatic. Trade him for that post defense and depth and see where that gets you now and in the future.

Kenyon Martin swiped the ball away from Amare like 4 times in a single quarter. Amare is a loafer and you are an apologist. He has NO intensity or focus and he is COASTING on his raw talent....

He swiped him 2 or 3 times. He stole the ball from Nash and Barnes 4 or 5 times, but we wont hear anything about that.

I forgot, when the Suns are on D with Amare on the court, it's like a 5 on 4 contest. He is NON-EXISTENT!!!!

See now this is absolutely a troll-like post, do you think Nash is a better defender than Amare? I agree with Bayless.

Remember, most Suns fans are Cardinal fans, especially around this board.

KEEP THAT IN MIND.

Well, I've been a Cards fan for 21 years and a Suns fan for 18 years, but I don't know what that has to do with the price of tea in China....

Troll? I think not. I've spent too much money on tickets and team memorabilia to be considered such. I've earned my stripes with this team, but I ain't gonna sit back and pretend everything is cool.

Nash has nothing to do with this conversation considering the impact he has on the team and on games. Nash has focus and intensity. Nash plays above his ceiling in spite of his athletic and defensive shortcomings. Amare plays below his ceiling in spite of his athletic gifts. Hell, Lou Admundson has been playing above his ceiling! If you can't grasp that concept, then I got nothing for you.

I truly thought Amare was the answer for this team when he was drafted even though I was undecided between him, Wilcox and Nene. Regardless, Amare has not changed since year 3 and he has no intensity in his game except on O....

Amare is purely an offensive player.
period.

he should be paired with a defensive center,
shaq is not that center.

what's happening now is shaq is the main offensive weapon,
so,
he should be paired with a defensive PF.
amare is not that PF.

maybe that's because his "beasting" only lasts long enough for 1 or 2 post, as opposed to his horrific defense and completely laughable play in the clutch, which seemingly goes on forever.

People are still living in the past when it comes to Nash, including the Suns organization who might even extend his contract... :bang:

I love Nash for what he has brought to this organization but its been obvious he needed to be out of here for the last year and a half. He is not the same player he was and his offensive game no longer makes up for his turnovers and defense.

Cue people trying to compare Nash as a defender to Amare as a defender.

:(

His play has been really pathetic over this stretch lately. It's frustrating because he just seems to have really long stretches on inconsistency.. before the last couple of weeks, he had a bunch of huge games where he led the team in rebounds about 10 straight times.. then lately he's kind of just faded into a guy who looks like he's not even trying.

He's not a rookie anymore, he's been a bad defender his whole career and he's not going to turn into KG. But the couple offensive rebounds and easy buckets he's going to give up every night were a lot easier to forgive when he was the 29/10/3 blocks on 65% shooting beast he was when Shaq first came, than the "I can't really be asked to give a ****" 17/5 with a few nice passes thrown in guy he has been lately.

He just doesn't fit in at all with the personnel we have right now. Give him Chauncey Billups and Tyson Chandler and a shooting/scoring wing like Granger or Lewis or whoever and all of a sudden he's an MVP candidate. But the things he brings to the table just doesn't work with the current makeup of this team. It's sad because what we need out of him he could EASILY provide with his skills and athleticism, but it just isn't going to happen because he doesn't want to be that player hustle wise, and isn't smart enough to be that player defensive wise.

Talk all you want about the turnovers in the denver game, bayless. But amare had 5 turnovers on only 3 assists. Nash did have 6, but he dished out 14 assists. Amare also had foul trouble, which really hurt the team down the stretch. Amare also only managed 8 rebounds, while Nash himself had 7. if nash can get 7 rebounds in a game, amare can get at least 14 in that game.

We know amare and nash are both poor defenders. this is nothing new. the difference is that amare has the physical athleticism and youth to become a good defensive player. Nash is not really athletic, and is looking at the end of his career. there is something amare can do, and not much nash can do.

I do agree that nash is beginning to hurt the team almost as much as he is helping it when it comes to the clutch. However, when people think Phoenix Suns, they think Steve Nash. He is the face of the franchise, and for that reason I do not see them trading him before his contract expires.

I agree that it may be time to let Nash go but to call him a fraud is the most stupid thing i have ever read on this board, it is demeaning after all he has done for this team.

Maybe Amare doesn't have the capabilities anymore to defend properly due to knee problems? Maybe it's just on the down low...

I'll keep saying it. Amare for Dirk. Straight up. Dirk opens up the floor so much, and would fit PERFECTLY with this team.

Assuming Dallas would do such a thing; send him to another western conference contender and re-uniting him with Nash (even if their combination wont be quite as potent as before).
Pretty sure Cuban is still smarting from his stupidity in the Nash deal.

We need D and REB, not another shooter who demands so much touch. Pass on Nowinski.

The reason we're not harping on Nash nearly as much as Amare is that Nash's problems are rarely due to a lack of effort. Amare coasts for large portions of the game at a time and almost always on the defensive end.

All I care about is effort and intensity. It's why we all love Lou out there; he's all hustle and heart. If Amare had half the effort that Lou had he'd be dominating games.

I just threw up alot in my own mouth when I read that. The reason the team brought in Shaq is so we didn't live or die by the jump shot. Amare at least drives to the rim. Dirk is a jump shooter. We don't need to add more jump shooting. We don't need someone as soft as Dirk in the middle.

You think things are bad now??? Wait until Dirk's shot stops falling in the playoffs yet.....AGAIN. Then when we need someone to go hard to the basket besides Shaq....we will have....well nobody.

No thanks. No thanks. No thanks.

Everyone is complaining that Amare can't rebound, and you want to trade him for Nowitzki?? Pretty ridiculous, don't you think?
