I've been watching these guys lose in heart crushing manner after heart crushing manner this season, and have been wondering when they were going to pack it in. What play would it be that finally had them walk off the field in disgust, never to take it again as a team for the rest of the season.

Surely the Baltimore game would be it. And they came out vs. the Rams looking meh, but the defense was flying around. And with CC's block, and the incredible Patrick Peterson show getting a freaking lucky win for us, I felt that would probably be the pinnacle of the season.

But they don't have any quit in them. I have to respect that, completely. They played the most complete game of the season on both sides of the ball on Sunday.

They did NOT pack it in, and they aren't looking like they plan to pack it in anytime soon.

They now face the biggest test of the season, coming off a big win and building some momentum. However, SF always pulls their man card, tears it up and stomps it in the dirt. Then they make out with the Cardinals' mom and laugh. Next week they either suck it up and play tough across the board, or they wilt like daisies yet again.

I'm very intrigued by this matchup - a team that clearly has no quit in them against a team that has made them big fat sissy quitters for a few years now.
No quit? Did you sleep through the Vikings game?

How can you say they quit? Or does every lopsided score just mean a team quit? They gave up the majority of their points in the 1st quarter because Graham and Kolb decided to play like retards ffs.

They spotted them 4 TDs because of horrid offensive play in the first quarter, then basically held them the rest of the way to a couple of FGs.

The Vikings had one significant drive of 73 yards in that game. The other three TDs were drives of less than 25 yards.

They got toasted in the Giants and Ravens games as well blowing leads in both but I don't think it was because they quit. Just that they weren't very good. BUT, things have changed since then. Acho and Scho and a more experienced Peterson are making a huge difference so far.

I also want to add that using the "spy" to pressure Vick instead of just shadowing him was a great move by Horton.

With time D-Wash becomes Mike Singletary-like LB

Whoa... I don't see that likeness at all.

Washington is taller, slimmer and much faster than Singletary. I think he can become just as effective as was Singletary, but in an un-Singletary like way... ;)

unnecessary roughness on #31 when he blocked as PP caught the punt

Are you talking about the flag on Abdullah (the anncrs mistakenly applied to Mau'ia) that wiped out the PP punt return gain?

If so, it looked as if they got him for an illegal block in the back - except that you could clearly see he had his head in front of his man when he made that block.

Regarding "no quit" - the 2 games are a positive sign (it helps reinforce the feeling in similar future circumstances that "we've been here before, know how to come back and feel confident we can come back"). But it's still a small though important step we need to build on.
