No one is that stupid all on their own. No way no how. At the time of the trade there were multiple teams - probably even in the double digits - who would have looked at a trade for Gasol. The majority of them would have given Memphis better return on the trade. The deal was an insider deal from the beginning. And I still to this day believe the league knew about it well in advance.
