That makes 4 teams, the Patriots, the Bucs, the Chiefs, and the Jets. We once were ahead of teh pack, but within one weekend 4 teams have surpassed us. And there are a couple of teams with jsut one pick to go like the Bungles who only have there second rounder to go, which baffels me why they were not the first done considering that they had there first rounder locked up in April. OH well, hopefully we will be the nex t to say that we are done. Maybe Graves has 2 of them done already and is waiting for the third to announce it. tomoorow or the next day when the third player is done. I think I am just going to assume that for now on. We are just waiting on one of them.

Bruce:

Remember that all four of those teams open(ed) camp before the Cardinals: Bucs--7/18; Chiefs--7/19; Jets--7/21; and Pats--7/23. In addition, the Packers signed first-rounder Nick Barnett on Saturday, the day after their rookies were scheduled to report.

Gil Brandt's column on NFL.com, "First-rounders will be signing soon" (7/21), is instructive:

>>The Fourth of July has come and gone, and you may be wondering why your favorite team hasn't signed its first-round draft choice(s)...

Negotiations between teams and those who represent the first-rounders often don't get serious until after July 4, and usually get wrapped up around the first day of the particular team's opening day of training camp.

That was the case with the Kansas City Chiefs, who inked their top pick, running back Larry Johnson, to a seven-year deal on July 17, three days before camp opened. Just days later, the Packers ( LB Nick Barnett), Jets ( DT Dewayne Robertson) and Patriots ( DT Ty Warren) signed their own first-rounders, bringing the total of first-round signings to five by July 21.<<

Graves still has a few days before the Cards head to Flagstaff. No worries--yet.
