the next 4 game stretch doesn't scare me as much as it did

It IS going to take a lot better offensive performance than we've seen so far, and against a still formidable Niner defense which probably gets Patrick Willis back. I'd like to think the Cardinal offense can be more productive than it has shown, but it remains to be seen.

'Good Carson' has to show up Sunday and 'Bad Carson' has to take the day off. If that happens, there's a chance. It also wouldn't hurt if bad Kapernick showed up and threw a pick-6 to Patrick Peterson.

Yeah, we have not played a game this season that would earn us a victory in San Francisco. Even our most dominant performance of the season (against Carolina) felt like a loss for much of the game and that was against a team that has a better chance of sliding into Bridgewater/Clowney territory than it does of making the playoffs.

I think the odds of winning are in reverse order to the order in which the games are occurring.
The game the Cards have the best chance of winning is here against Houston. The one where they have the least chance is @San Francisco. The overall odds of them going 0-4 are much better than them going 4-0 or even 3-1 though.

I think the odds of 2-2 are way better than 0-4. Houston, and especially Atlanta, look very beatable. Assuming the Cardinals come out of the two division games relatively healthy and don't get blasted 58-0. Atlanta is without their top two wide receivers. Houston has quarterback issues and 'we' have two weeks to prepare for them.

yeah, they gotta take both of those home games against Houston and Atlanta. Both are scuffling and we have to win home games against teams with bad records if we want to play meaningful football into december.

The two division games are definitely the toughest. The Houston and Atlanta games look much easier now than they did at the beginning of the season but I'm guessing that Atlanta and Houston fans are looking at the game against Arizona and putting a W on their schedule.

BTW how bad is the NFC south outside of New Orleans right now? New Orleans is 5-0 while the rest of the division is 2-11

They also have to win home games against good teams to play meaningful football into December. Heck the horrendous 2003 teams beat Green Bay and Minnesota in Sun Devil and I sure hope this year's edition is better than that bunch. I'd be disappointed if the Cards lost to Atlanta and Houston even if those two teams were playing at last season's level.

I appreciate all the optimism, I really do. But this Cardinals team could just as likely go 0-4, over the next four games, as 3-1; winning all four would be incredulous!

being a fan a long as we have i can't argue with the chances of being 0 and 4 a legitimate possibility

but with all the changes top to bottom this year, it just FEELS different,

i think there is a fresh sense of optimism within the defense, and within the rooks on the offense
hopefully it will be infectious

one thing that came to mind while composing this thread was the lyrics to an aerosmith song,

i know nobody knows
where it comes and where it goes
i know its everybodoes sin
you got to lose to know how to win

i know the cards know a lot about losing, but we aren't too far removed from those halcyon days of playoff wins and a superbowl appearance,

and i think the use of accountability from players this year and the demonstrations that we are ready to wash our hands of our past mistakes ala' levi brown and move on is the road to success,

in any case i enjoy watching this team again, unlike last season, i literally couldn't wait for last year to be over, and i've never felt that way about a cards team,

so this feeling is refreshing :)

Agreed I hate being in the bottom of the nfl I think this will be our year. I think our defense will be able to match up against anyone. Our offense is getting there and Carson Palmer is due for a good game this weekend.

I'm hopeful that the game plan for the 9'er game is to have Larry be the best decoy in the league . I don't know how that will set with Larry , but I believe it would help cut down on turn-overs , make it easier for his teammates to make plays , and give the team it's best chance to win .
