Steve Keim "We are very, very excited about Bradley Sowell. Very similar to Alameda Ta mu (whatever), a guy who has not played a lot of football. But hopefully, like Alameda, he can succeed when given a chance."

Hope is not a plan.

"That is his opportunity."

"I don't think there is any risk."
"I don't think it can get any worse."

BA

Sowell did play in the playoff game vs. the Ravens, so he has that going for him. Apparently, veterans have told BA that Sowell "has a good punch."

Their "plan" is that he will be just as bad as Levi (no worse), but are "hoping" he will be a diamond in the rough and thus do much better than Levi.

The equivalent of treating diarrhea by eating cheese
I think Sowell will do fine, not well enough to convince the team that he is their tackle of the future or anything, but I still think he will be better than Levi.

is this based on anything in particular?

I think he'll probably be just as bad...maybe a little worse. hopefully not Bautiste bad. Can't believe this is the second year in a row the team has started an UDFA at LT. that's ridiculous.

That is ridiculous. Did you know that Paul Kruger has 2.5 sacks vs. the Colts in the playoff game last year. BA said Kruger beat Sowell for one sack, so maybe we can apply that to how many sack Levi would have given up...

I'll wait until I see the guy play before I throw the kitchen sink at him, but I am not expecting much from him. To me this is more of a test on the coaching staff then the player because they have to think he can do the job or they wouldn't put him out there. If the guy does badly it looks bad on the coaching staff and that's not a good thing for a new staff that is suppose to be a bunch of old guys that know what they are doing. We will see how he does. I am really looking forward to this game since I will be there for it. I just hope we win. It would suck to fly all the way out there from North Carolina just to watch them lose.

"He looked elite in those 5 minutes I saw him on tape, but then when he got to all of our OL coaches, we found out it wasn't going to work."

I hope he does better than Brown. But my question would be why not Potter or even Massie although he played mostly on the right?

How many times can it be said on here that Massie was a RT ONLY prospect. Its the main reason he dropped in the draft according Mayock.
