Get ready for...

Open Water 2: Adrift

A weekend cruise on a luxurious party yacht goes horribly wrong for a group of old high school friends. They forget to let the ladder down before they jump into the ocean for a swim. The boat proves impossible to climb. They are stuck in the water many miles from shore, with baby Sara left alone on board. Sara's mother Amy must contend with her aqua-phobia as well as the group's increasing desperation, as the friends begin to turn on each other. Soon the exhaustion of keeping afloat and the struggle to get back on board begin to take a terrible toll. The happy reunion turns into a fight for survival.

I want to see a movie that goes something like this.

DAY - ON A LARGE SAIL BOAT - OPEN OCEAN

Mulli: "Let's go swimmin'"
BIM: "Sounds good. Lemme just put the ladder down."
Mulli: "Why? We can get back in without it."
BIM: "Nu-uh."
Mulli: "yes, sir. Watch"
Mulli performs a perfect triple-lindy into the water.

CUT TO:
BIM peers over the edge, then disappears from view.

CUT TO:
Sail rising up the mast. The wind is brisk and immediately fills the sail.

Mulli: "Hey!"

New TV Superman Tom Welling has given the Teen Wolf film franchise a boost after reportedly signing on for a new movie. In the new Teen Wolf, a remake of Michael J. Fox's 1985 movie, the fun-loving werewolf of the title will be played by a female. Website DarkHorizons.com reports that Smallville star Welling will be part of the supporting cast of the new film.

It was announced today that Miramax and The Weinstein Company have forged an agreement to produce sequels to some of MIramax's biggest and most popular films with sequels to the dark comedy Bad Santa, the poker drama Rounders and the Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love being at the forefront of those plans. The new alliance will also work on creating potential television shows and special products for home entertainment, which could essentially mean straight-to-video spin-offs of other Miramax films.

Other films named in the press release about the collaboration that could warrant sequels either released theatrically or on DVD/Blu-ray include Bridget Jones’s Diary, which already saw one sequel, the police drama Copland, Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn--which already had a direct-to-video prequel and sequel--Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau's breakout Swingers, Kevin Smith's Clerks, which also already had a sequel, Shall We Dance, and The Amityville Horror, previously remade by MGM.

The two companies are already working on the upcoming Scream 4 (out April 15), Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World (out August 19), as well as a Scary Movie 5, of which no details have been released as of yet.
