Seriously, if you can convince her to get a larger one, I would. at least 40"

<-- wishes I had the 70" SXRD that I used to have. Even the 60" isn't big enough anymore

Help, I need to convince the wife HD is worth it.

Take her to a friends house with HD. Show her some Discovery channel something.

Then go to a sporting event...national broadcast. Find its counterpart on HD. Flip back and forth.

If that doesn't make the sale, show her her favorite TV show in HD.

If that doesn't work...sorry man, we'll call you SDMulli from now on.

We've got a 40 incher. Its a very nice HDTV. Its a Sony and I think it was ranked in the top 5 HDTV's. Obviously not in size, but it is very nice.

People will buy TV's just to have them for the superbowl, and then return them after the game. This will allow a sale if you will after the superbowl. Add in the fact that CES is right around the corner and the new models will be displayed there...and it's a great time to buy a TV.

I'm finally getting my HD Cable Card installed on Saturday. Get to watch the Cardinals in HD for the first time this weekend hopefully!

Let me tell you, watching the Cardinals lose in HD is so much better than watching them lose in Standard Def.
DCR recorded the game yesterday because I was going to be late getting there to watch it, and he inadvertently recorded it in standard def. So, yeah...we got to watch them lose in standard. :bang:

Does anyone know anything about the 58inch Plasmas that are at Costco right now for under $2K?

That's awesome. You will almost never regret getting too big of a TV.

I was just there and didn't notice.

It was at the Avondale one. They had two of them up. I was reading the details and it didn't say anything about being 1080p. But I didn't think they sold anything less than this anymore.

I was planning on buying a 65 inch DLP, but one of these 58 inch plasmas might work too.

I have the 60" Sony. It has been rock solid. The only thing that I don't like about it, is that it will not turn itself off after X minutes if it doesn't recognize a signal. My old Mitsubishi would turn itself off in 5 minutes if it didn't recognize a video feed.

If you have any questions about it. Let me know.

With $2500, you could get into any of the TV formats. How big do you want to go? What will you be watching the most on your new TV? (for example like 25% movies, 25% video games, 40% Standard TV 10% HDTV)

You should be able to find the same Sony that I have KDS-60A2020 for less than $2500.

DCR.... Back in August, this was the TV you thought would be best at 60"... Since I cant find it on amazon, I thought it might have been replaced.

Would this be the new version of it??
