The antenna should be big enough according to DTV.

(It's the pic on the far right)

Sure everything is connected correctly? I'm baffled...

Yeah, me too. Shouldn't I just be able to access DTV HD with my local channels by selecting Ch3, Ch5, CH10, Ch12, or Ch15 in my DTV program guide? Or do I have to locate it somewhere else?

DTV is very sketchy when it comes to tech support. They basically told me I was SOL.

Is that an indoor antenna or is is mounted outside?

You may need a preamp for that antenna. Also check the settings on the box to make sure you are tuning digital channels.

When they come in you will know it. There will not be any fuzz or distortion. You either get them or you don't based on the signal strength. There may also be a section in the setup that gives you a signal meter so you can rotate the antenna to get the best signal strength.

Great News!

Alright! I figured it out. I'm such an idiot.

I basically went to the DTC guide/Set-Up/Ant.

Then, I had to scan for DIGITAL channels under my antenna. Previously it only had NTSC (?) scanned. So, the guide scanned all and came up with the local HD channels.

Wow, I've had this HD for 4 months, and only figured it out tonight. What the hell's my problem? :D

(Thanks guys, for steering me in the right direction).

That's awesome man. I hope the Cards game will be in HD this Sunday.

And now you can watch Monday Night Football on 15.1.

FYI - NTSC is the analog broadcast standard they have had since the 50's. ATSC is the new digital standard.

NBA-TV showing the Mavs/Warriors in HD tonight and the Pacers/'Wolves tomorrow. On Cox cable they will be shown on 721 (INHD1).

Cox has finally released the SA-8300HD today. It is a HD-DVR and now I can record or pause HD shows.

Okay, not sure how many are out there, but I wanted to start an HD thread for those with HD tv's, and who enjoy the wonder that is HD.

You can talk about HD TV's, news about HD broadcasts, etc.

Like last week, ABC shut down their HD broadcast so they could upgrade stuff.

And also, good news for Dave Letterman fans...he's in HD now :)

He had a good line last night:

"Will HD make the jokes better?"

I am really looking forward to the new season of shows like Lost, the OC, etc, all in HD...

Plus I have the NFL Ticket with Superfan, and so I'll be watching a lot of football in HD this year...can't wait.

So here's my novice HD questions. I bought a Panasonic 34 inch widescreen that's HD ready but not built in, so I need the HD receiver correct? When talking to guys at work they all say that the cable you connect it with makes a HUGE difference in HD and that good cables can cost as much as the receiver? True?

We have Dish Network where we rent and it's not HD so I'm not sure I want to be shelling out 400 bucks for a receiver and cables and only get a very few HD channels?

The cables don't cost that much, geez...I got Monster Component Cables for like $30 each or so on Newegg.com.

As long as they are good component cables, you should be fine.

They MAY be talking about HDMI cables, in that case, they cost a bit online, like $99...but I heard you can get one at Sam's Club for $20.

If you have Dish Network, they should have a receiver you buy for HD...but realize, no one is broadcasting local channels in HD except Cox. I have an Over the Air antenna on my roof to get local HD channels.

Which is better anyways, because Over the Air signals are uncompressed, unlike Cox.

I am headed over to a friends house.

No surround sound but he does have a OTA HD reveiver and a projector that produces a 110" screen.

How good is this season of TV so far in HD?

Prison Break looks amazing, as does CSI.

NFL Ticket...is just sick.
