HeavyB3 said:So what happens when you try to go to 36?
HeavyB3 said:Sure everything is connected correctly? I'm baffled...
sly fly said:Yeah, me too. Shouldn't I just be able to access DTV HD with my local channels by selecting Ch3, Ch5, CH10, Ch12, or Ch15 in my DTV program guide? Or do I have to locate it somewhere else?
DTV is very sketchy when it comes to tech support. They basically told me I was SOL.
sly fly said:The antenna should be big enough according to DTV.
(It's the pic on the far right)
sly fly said:Alright! I figured it out. I'm such an idiot.
I basically went to the DTC guide/Set-Up/Ant.
Then, I had to scan for DIGITAL channels under my antenna. Previously it only had NTSC (?) scanned. So, the guide scanned all and came up with the local HD channels.
Wow, I've had this HD for 4 months, and only figured it out tonight. What the hell's my problem?
(Thanks guys, for steering me in the right direction).
SirChaz said:That's awesome man. I hope the Cards game will be in HD this Sunday.
And now you can watch Monday Night Football on 15.1.
FYI - NTSC is the analog broadcast standard they have had since the 50's. ATSC is the new digital standard.

Russ Smith said:So here's my novice HD questions. I bought a Panasonic 34 inch widescreen that's HD ready but not built in, so I need the HD receiver correct? When talking to guys at work they all say that the cable you connect it with makes a HUGE difference in HD and that good cables can cost as much as the receiver? True?
We have Dish Network where we rent and it's not HD so I'm not sure I want to be shelling out 400 bucks for a receiver and cables and only get a very few HD channels?

Just got the new Home Theatre installed, Optical cables hooked up, and my Tivo set to broadcast Dolby Digital...
6pm, ABC, Football...in Dolby Digital, High Definition...can't freaking wait....
