You are right. Long time ago. Over it.

Not me. There is no defensible reason that Andre Roberts is our #2 instead of Anquan. Q should have retired a Cardinal and had his name in the Ring of Honor.

Boldin wouldn't have made a bit of difference to this team last year and correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't make a whole lot of difference to the Ravens either. I think it's more of a mistake to overpay at the WR position than just about any other spot and overpaying him was the only way we could have kept him. He was an incredible player for a few years and he was also a very positive clubhouse presence but his best days were behind him and he wasn't willing to acknowledge that at contract time.

None of that matters. NONE. Boldin should have remained a Cardinal. I don't care that he wouldn't have made any difference playing with the worst trio of QBs in NFL history. Over pay? Get a grip they're under the cap $30 million last season and $14million this season.

Boldin was our guy and we let him go. A mistake. Period!

I just can't follow that logic. Why commit way more money than warranted to a MARGINAL player. Marginal, that's all Boldin is anymore. Signing him to a huge contract makes about as much sense as bringing in a has-been RB from the Cowboys. I want this team to win. Not spending enough money will probably keep that from happening but WASTING money is a sure-fire way to insure you never succeed. I love the guy and I have no problem with letting him come back and retire as a Cardinal if he's interested but I see no reason to voluntarily throw yourself into a pit of mediocrity (or worse).

Marginal???? Well it's simple to see why you can't follow that logic because you don't see Boldin as a CARDINAL. To you he's just another disposable part in an engine supposedly built to win a championship.

I just don't think that way. Anquan Boldin was a special player for Arizona and should have remained a Cardinal for his entire career.

We could have kept Anquan with no negative repercussions no matter how hard you try to spin it that way. They had the money. And they should have figured out how to keep him happy.

I don't think it's that black and white. First off, how many teams succeed by overpaying for players that are on their way downhill? Secondly, what do you do when a player demands far more than he's worth? Do you let him hold you hostage simply because he's beloved by the fans or do you make the smart decision and part ways? If you once again say we should have just paid the money no matter what, then ask yourself this - do you pay him if he asks for a hundred million a year? Obviously, the answer is no. Now, start walking that figure down till you get to the amount you would have been willing to pay and perhaps somewhere during that process you'll see why some of us feel that we had to let him go even though we DID consider him a Cardinal.

Using the overpaying logic really is a waste of time. the Cardinals had $30 million last season and have $14 million this season AFTER having brought in several top NFL players. Also using the argument of having to pay $408 Billion for Boldin doesn't' cut it. Because you know good and well they wouldn't have had to pay that much to keep him in the Valley.

When you have a guy like Boldin who has meant so much to the team and you have $44 million extra dollars how in the hell do you let him go play somewhere else?

Because at that point Boldin stated he would never sign another contract to play for the Cardinals.

I already addressed that issue. It never should have come to that. The Cards should have hired Mulli to kiss Boldin's ... to keep him in town. :D

It is inexcusable to tick off a player of Boldin's caliber to the extent that no matter what you offered him he wouldn't come back. If they hadn't done it he'd still be here. The Cards lost him and cut payroll $30 Freakin' Million Dollars. That's almost criminal.

Everyone raise your hand who thinks that Andre Roberts or Early Doucet is a better number two WR than Boldin. Remember that Money IS NOT AN ISSUE!!!

I hated to see Q leave. I hated to see the relationship get to the point that Q hated some if not all of the FO. I hated to see Q pout after we won the NFC championship game.

Q was one of those players who was part of the change in culture in the locker room for the Cards. Refuse to Lose attitude and Amazing work ethic. Gave it his all on the field at a level that very few NFL players do.....yes that's a big statement but Q backed it up.

The Ravens gave Lewis a very nice contract even though he was 30 something because they knew what he meant to the team leadership wise. His play is still very good but not at the same level during his hay days.

I hear what Duck is saying and I'm hard pressed to give a valid reason as to why the Cards traded him. I also hear what AzStevenCal is saying and agreed with his position when the Cards traded Q.

It's a crying shame that the marriage between the Cards and Q got to the point it did. It's like the Cards cheated on Q and he simply couldn't forgive them for it.

The bigger mistake at this point would be to lose Fitz as well. He is actually a better (IMO) overall Cardinal then Q was. Circumstance may be the only reason but it is how it played out.

I'm hoping/praying that the Cards are getting into a position FO wise that puts an end to losing "ring of honor" type players.
