You meant ManCity, right?

Don't wanna see Donovan anywhere near Little Pea :p

That's gotta be a joke.

And players are property of their respective teams unless they are out of contract. Man U, if this is true, can't offer Donovan anything. They have to approach his club first (LA Galaxy).

Yeah, I meant Man City

http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/wo...-eyeing-donovan--fbintl_ro-donovan062710.html

Donovan will earn $2,127,777.78 with his current employer, the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, in 2010. However, the English club would be able to offer a far greater salary, one in the region of $4 million a year. Another factor that could entice City would be the prospect of additional reach and exposure in the North American market, with Donovan’s profile and popularity at an all-time high.

Donovan would represent solid value for the ambitious club. He would likely cost around $12 million in transfer fees, which would be paid by Man City and split between the Galaxy and Major League Soccer.

Wonder where they're getting that $12m figure from. With his stock high, that fee seems low.

I'd rather be in Fulham than Naples. Not only is the soccer currently better in the EPL than Serie A, Naples is not the nicest city...at least Fulham is in London--been to both cities and London wins hands down. It'll come down to money though.

Never been to London, but have been to Naples. Very dirty city, and the tour guides there said it was due to a "garbage strike". Yeah, right.

But the reality is that Napoli has a much better chance of competing for the Serie A title than Fulham does competing for the EPL title (and a Champions League birth). That's probably the only "pro" I can see with choosing Napoli over Fulham.

I'm sure Valencia's Board is happy with the money, but Valencia fans must be really angry--losing Silva and Villa? They probably weren't going anywhere anyway, but that is a major step backward as far as the on-field product.

I too have been to both naples and london .... absolutely love london

naples?! - well it's near the water, has a great museum, good food and is close to sorrento and some other decent cities ..... and they are passionate about their soccer

definitely a bit rough as a city and the one place where my normally mild mannered self got into an interesting verbal confrontation .... with what I assume were mutual insults as my italian skills are pretty much non-existant ..... some dudes kept wanting to play grab ass with the girls who were travelling with us

They're in a lot of debt. Im sure it'll be a relief to get some of it taken care of.
They've been rumored to be after Andres Guardado, Pablo Barrera, and Roque Santa Cruz (loan)

If they can pull off those signings, they're going to have a pretty entertaining team.

Would love to see Arsenal or ManU go after Howard.

Jozy HAS to go to a different team, since Hull didn't renew the loan. He should probably go somewhere a bit less challenging than Spain or EPL. Netherlands, perhaps.

Jozy rumors...

While Spanish outlet Nostre Sport has reported that Villarreal definitely want to bring Altidore back into their strike stable, there is also plenty of interest in his services across Europe.

"Right now, everything's a possibility," Altidore rep Lyle Yorks told MLSsoccer.com. "There's interest for transfers, and there's also the possibility of a loan."

The agent confirmed that Altidore has prospective suitors in England, the Netherlands and Spain. MLSsoccer.com has also learned that Ajax, Celtic and Espanyol are among the gaggle of clubs with scouts in South Africa to watch the US No. 17 shirt.

I'd like to see him play in The Netherlands for a season or 2 like Bradley did.

More Dempsey rumors...

We’ve got a major club in Italy, a major club in France, and a club in the Bundesliga. We’ll be sorting through them in the coming weeks and also seeing what happens at Fulham.

There’s direct contact and discussions, but first they’d have to agree a deal with Fulham.”

The European clubs in question are believed to be Juventus, Bordeaux and Bayer Leverkusen

He would be a major impact player with Juve, which is the biggest club of the 3 listed. And my favorite Italian team (even though than sucked last season). Bring him in!
