We interviewed him about it on our recent podcast. It's all very odd. For those of who are on twitter, I'm sure you know who Kris is for those that are not, he's one of the funniest Suns fans on twitter and is a DIE HARD fan.

Listen to his side of the story on the most recent episode of The Timeline:

I get that you're promoting your podcast, and it's a good podcast, but can you limit it to one thread rather than making a new thread for every episode? I think it would be different if you actively posted here outside of plugging your podcast but it seems that's all you've done so far.

It's a weekly podcast. One post a week is not a nuisance in my opinion. We shouldn't be so closed off from the rest of the Suns community.

A post a week is fine but a thread for each episode is different. A thread for the podcast, overall, that's bumped weekly though might get people talking about specific episodes. I know I generally like the show but the hook for this is how the Suns twitter account blocked some "super fan" sounds dull. That's the best they could come up with after the first week of the new season? That makes the episode sound worse and worth skipping, honestly.

Edit: I can also trash the podcast here and it won't cause Mike to respond. He did the same in another thread for the last episode. He didn't converse with anyone. If he was active and talking about other things or staying active in the threads he hasn't. This hasn't been bad, yet, but it will wear thin as the season moves on. At what point is someone spamming if they only self promote in each post also?

Give me a break. You’re really bitching about this? I know you’re upset about the Suns, but who cares? It’s a good podcast and Mike is a solid Suns fan. No need at all to vvilify the guy. If you don’t want to read his posts, don’t.

If Mike sticks around and decides to banter with us, then it's cool. But I gotta agree with Poop Head, if this becomes merely an advertisement for the podcast with no responses to the discussion, it will wear thin.

There’s an easy solve for that—ignore him. Then it won’t matter. And if it gets to the point that nobody responds, he will probably just stop.

I asked for advice in my first post of how to properly post but I think it’s fair to criticize me here. I’m still sort of learning the format, and along with twitter, Reddit, Facebook and here, I try to interact with as many Suns fans as I can, but can’t keep up with all of them really well, so fair. I’m an outsider and didn’t make enough of an effort to hang with you guys. I’ll go back to lurking for a while and hopefully interact more in the future.

Well, your first problem is actually using Reddit... :)

I don’t just use it! I moderate it. I’ve been at that Suns Reddit since there was only 1,000 people in it and there’s almost 15,000 now. But from that perspective I totally understand the criticism here. People who only go somewhere to self promote come off as disengenous and fake, and clearly that wasn’t my intention, but I get how that happened. I lurked for a few weeks before I posted at all, but I don’t think fully knew what I was doing when I posted.

Eh, it's okay - I wouldn't worry about it. I think there is an inherent resistance on any forum to the possibility that someone just shows up to spam rather than participate... and I can understand the tendency for people to be touchy about that, as it happens frequently on the net.

But you clearly are not intending to do that, so I would say that as long as you seem genuinely interested in interacting here from time to time, no one is really going to get that uptight if you post about your podcast.

Yeah I think that sometimes I forget that people on Reddit/twitter know that I’m just some guy who’s a huge fan who just does this stuff for free and to try to make the season more fun, but showing up somewhere new (post-podcast which has only been a few months) I am “that guy from the podcast” now, so I’m still learning how to interact online after that. I appreciate the advice. I’ll probably delete this thread later (assuming that’s possible) because I don’t think a debate about my participation here is the best discussion for a Suns forum haha.

Keep doing what you are doing, man. We'd certainly appreciate if you would join some discussions outside of the podcast posts, though!

I did not mean to come across as bitching, at all. I simply asked if plugging the podcast could be kept to one thread. I didn't realize asking a simple question or making a request like that would be viewed as bitching. This has nothing to do with being upset with the Suns either. I don't take sports that seriously, especially regular season games.

I asked for advice in my first post of how to properly post but I think it’s fair to criticize me here. I'm a fan of the podcast and I think your Twitter account is one of the best Suns twitter accounts out there. I wish you guys would get a Youtube account for the videos you make because those are generally really good. I know copyrights might keep that from happening but hosting the videos somewhere else would be great, IMO, maybe Instagram could host them until you're able to figure out a way around the Youtube bots that flag accounts for copyright infringement when they shouldn't be.

I understand you are spread pretty thin with moderating the Reddit forum, hosting the podcast, making the videos, and everything else. I don't mean to pile onto that. I think 1 thread for the podcast would probably be best though. With how the forum settings work everyone who has posted in that thread or selected to watch it would get a notification when new posts get made also that might even get more eyes on it rather than creating new threads. I was merely making a suggestion, that's it. Not trying to come across like a dick and hope you didn't take it that way. I'm glad to see you're posting here in general considering all that you do elsewhere. I think you could be a quality contributor to this community and am in no way trying to single you out for being a new poster.

You are welcome to post your podcast here. I even see why it warrants it's own thread in case people want to actually discuss it's content.
