Haha.

Casey Jacobsen is so bad.

And, I'm not sure why it is, but for some reason, in the NBA, the sharp-shooter who can't shoot the basketball isn't worth much. Again, I don't know, but it might have something to do with the fact that sharp-shooters who can't shoot can't shoot.

Amare Stoudemire is just ridiculous. It seems like every game he has suddenly learned how to do something new. Tonight he was driving and dribbling like one of that guards around the Dallas big men.

Now I will admit that I was wrong about the way this game turned out. However I'm not sure if I would have predicted it this way had I known that Erick Dampier and Jason Terry were only going to play about 5 minutes each. As a Phoenix Suns fan I also would not complained about the officiating tonight. Now if I was a Dallas Mavericks fan...

This team sure is exciting to watch.

:biglaugh:

Classic!

:raccoon:

Although he has been money at times, he cant play D that well, and if his shot is off, he's not all that valuable except to play hard and give a starter some rest.

Casey Jacobsen missed some shots in the second half, but he did knockdown a couple of three-point shots in the first half. He ended up 2-5 for the game. Frankly his defense wasn't any worse than JJ's are Q's.

Steve Nash even had a triple-double!

Bob Kemp should be fun tomorrow afternoon!

Yeah, Bob Kemp thinks he's a basketball know-it-all. Guarantee you he couldn't score 10 points if he was in a gym by himself ... and they lowered the basket 5 feet.

That's a ridiculous statement. How many times are you going to use the word "shoot"? You're just not making any sense.

Can't shoot? What rock have you been hiding under? CJ has been playing rock-solid.

BTW, Marion did have one helluva night on the defensive end. He was up in Dirk's grill all night long.

Marion is best utilized when he's the 5th option on offense.

Countless times Marion was positioned for the rebound by just being away from the strong side.

In addition, it seemed like all PHX players were around the glass all night long.

- Devin Harris is good. Very good. He's going to be one of the top guards very soon.

- Dallas is better than they were last year, even w/o Nash. Daniels, Howard, Stackhouse, Harris, and Terry are better than Antoine Walker, Antwan Jamison, and Ed Najera.

- Dampier looked like a buffoon out there. That "mystery" injury was probably due to Amare working him over early.

- Is it me, or is Mark Cuban just look like an irritating ass sitting over there crying all game long? BTW, nice TV show, Mark.

- Was there a Jake Voskuhl sighting tonight?

- A healthy Barbosa is needed. Let's hope he gets back soon.

I wasn't able to watch the game, so I can't fully admit all of the ways in which I was wrong about the outcome. :p But, realistically, if anyone wants to say I was wrong about something, I'll probably just have to agree with you this time.

Not sure what you predicted, but this game had a lot of unexpected events.

5 minutes in, Dampier left the game. His first 5 minutes were less than impressive, although he did get a block.

Terry also had to leave before the end of the 1st.

The Suns got Dirk in foul trouble early. Nelson opted to leave him on the floor with 3 in the second, but he played more tentative. He got his 4th early in the 3rd, and had 5 (on a real bad call) with about 6 left in the 3rd quarter.

To the Suns credit, they were attacking, and attacking hard. Q took to many bad shots, but that was expected. Amare was just tearing apart their team at the end of the game. It seemed like he got 4 and-1's in a row. The suns were all crashing to the boards.

Marion actually did a really good job on Dirk to my surprise. Also, Hunter got blocked as many times as he blocked other people....

Great game to watch.

Stoudemire is a beast. I can't believe what a force he has become. I should have cheated in the fantasy league in order to give myself a high enough draft pick to take him. :D Somehow, when I wound up with #16, I had a feeling he wouldn't be left on the board...

I disagree.

His D looked horrible to me and you could tell that he was not half the athlete as whoever he was guarding whether it was Howard, Daniels, or Stackhouse, or any of them he seemed to just be over matched.

There was one play when it looked as if he had gotten his ankles broken over a simple crossover and fell into one of our players.

Then he proceeded to airball a 3 (you know his money shot?).

I just don't like it when him or Jake are in the lineup.

Well, that was an interesting read. Anybody who says we complain too much about the coaching and officiating should read that thread. Granted, I thought the officials gave plenty for the Mavericks fans to complain about. I thought the Suns got away with at least one or two goaltends and a handful of shooting fouls. IMO part of the reason Marion was successful regarding Dirk was that the officials allowed him to get away with a lot of contact it is supposed to be called, especially this season. I'm not complaining. I'm just trying to be fair.

One thing that I would like to point out is that Dirk Nowitzki's last foul was not a bad call. He put his forearm into Amare and gave a nice little shove before Amare got hammered by Bradley. That said, I thought Amare got away with a rebounding foul to get the ball back in the first place. I didn't get to see that part of the play over though.

I'll admit that CJ is not the best defender. I just didn't think his defense was that much worse than JJ's or Q's last night. JJ's defense over the last several games has left something to be desired. Still, the Suns held the Mavericks to just 41.2% shooting for the game. If they could just get rid of some of the uglier turnovers they would be in very good shape.

The Suns really should blow out New Orleans tomorrow night. The Hornets have been awful so for (I love watching Byron Scott fail miserably). They need to take control of this game early, so Steven Nash can get some rest before Friday's game against the Lakers. So far, just between the Cleveland game and last night's Steven Nash has played an extra game's minutes.

I'm not going to read the Mavs fans but I wasn't complaining much about refs this game :p It is true MOST of the time Suns win, I give them a little bit of a break but this game wasn't that bad IMO (for the Mavs fans that find board, I don't watch games live).

I usually don't get to post before game on these Official gameday games threads but other than the 2 losses to Spurs, I believe Suns could win every game...

78-4?

You think Mark Cuban's irritating self, yelling at the refs over every call from the stands, has anything to do with them not having some fouls go their way? Then there is him slapping player's butts during timeouts and getting in the huttles. I just want to smack him one sometimes and I'm sure Don Nelson wants to, too. Cuban can be his team's own worst enemy.

He was tearing into the "fans" who were calling his show saying the Suns were going 82-0 last week and the disappeared after they lost to the Cavs. About as harsh as I have ever heard him.

Kemp is an idiot when it comes to the Suns.

I remember when we traded Longley to the Knicks and he called it the worst move the Suns had ever made.

Of course, he has probably forgotten all about that little comment (made it on his then national show).

Marion played out of his mind defense last night. If only he used his lateral quickness like that every night...

I've got to give it up to Marion for his excellent defense last night. I was, as most of us were, very skeptical about Shawn guarding Dirk prior to the game, but dude stepped up and was in his face all night.

Stat Vs Dirk

I wish Stat could have played his position last night. It would have been great to see him and Dirk going at each other all night. I think we got beat hard with the zone D. We did not break it they stopped playing it. We would have lost if they would have keeped it up. If Amare can play at the top of the free point line I think we could break it. They would either foul him going to the hoop or he could shoot that fine 15 footer.

It's much better than last season.

I hope getting rid of that floor is the first step of getting rid of the grey in the road jersey. I hope they go white/orange as their main colours with their next jersey and purple and/or black alternate ones.
The gray in the new team colors represents the "ashes" that the phoenix rises from, mainly it is symbolic. ( I sold some apparel to the Suns originization a couple of years ago). It is not going anywhere. After the Suns went charcoal gray several other teams incorporated some shade of gray into their color schemes to follow the trend the Suns started (Houston, Dallas, Portland, Utah, Charlotte). I don't know if you are old enough to remember the term "athletic gray", it is a natural color for sports.
