the thing about maggette is that he has redeemed himself, by almost single handedly leading the charge into the playoffs. without him, the clips would have crapped the season away, but he at least gave them a fighting chance.

he averaged 21/6/4 over the last two months of the season.

two words - Peja and West. they combine for over $20mil in payroll next season, so adding Marion to their mix makes no sense, especially when they give up a huge chunk of their bigs.

Wallace will be 33 next season with 2 years left on his contract. and chances of him putting up better numbers than Diaw are pretty slim. and this only saves us money when Marion's contract is up and we have more flexability anyways. this makes no sense for us.

Not that this trade would ever happen but Diaw could put up better numbers then Wallace but Sheed would still be the better player because of his defense. It would take a 05/06 Diaw like season to compensate for the difference between their defensive production.

If we trade Marion we have to go for Brewer IMO. A gaping whole is opened, and Brewer is the only prospect that slides in there.

You might want to take that back.

Brewer measured in no taller than the other swingmen, he also measured in with the shortest wingspan and only Julian Wright measured as a worse athlete.

Young beats him in every physical score, and is only 18 years old compared to Brewer who is 21.

I am almost happy we dont have #4 now as all top prospect except Oden and Conley measured poorly, Horford did soso and Yi is unknown.

The measurements were pretty incredible. Young's vertical was just absolutely ridiculous.

But I still think you take Brewer first. He may not have the highest upside, but he is the closest to contributing - and a proven winner. He is also much more of a 5of5 type a guy, not someone who stands out in drills and workouts (this has been evident all summer).

Julian Wright would also be a great pick, and I wouldn't mind Nick Young. But it all depends on where we would get a pick. If it was 5, I still go Brewer.

One thing that I think the workouts/measurements show is that there is a lot of depth at the swing in this draft. If the Suns were resigned to moving Marion, I don't think that they HAVE to look for a high lottery pick. If they got another deal that returned more ready made talent, they could pick up a nice swing prospect in the late lottery.
