How much credit should Grimm get???? I mean he is playing with two rookies, one second year guy (Lutui), another guy who had been miserable at the guard position before (Wells), and a guy was a failure at tackle (Gorin). Yet, we had rushed for more than 100 yards in both games. Edge had almost 100 in first, and 127 today. We rushed on three consecutive plays, gaining big yards after the fumble to put us in the reasonable field goal range. That after the Hawks knew we were going to run.

Russ Grimm has been the best FA signing in years for Cardinals.

Grimm has a lot to do with it... Gorin is not with the team anymore, you mean Gandy, but I get what you are saying. Blame it on the beer.

You have to give Gandy credit, he is holding down that LT spot. Remember this guy was blocking for McGahee and Henry in BUF, his weakness was pass blocking but is doing well so far.

We had over 120 yards rushing by Edge and allowed 0 sacks today (that is not a typo).

Yeah I'd say Grimm is pretty good

1 sack...when Leinart fell down?

Seattle and SF had 5+ sacks each in their other games.

This oline is for real.

I got to give some others come credit as well, Wiz, JJ, and Matt.

Wiz is doing a lot of good protection schemes (anyone else notice that we had probably only 3-4 different Offensive sets that we ran multiple plays from rather then a lot of different sets compared to last week), not full out max protect or anything but he is defiantly coming up with some good protection fronts. JJ is on 3rd downs and he is picking up blitzes like a mad man right now. And Matt isnt exactly scrambling but taking one step up into the pocket or one step to the right or left is just as good. Just ask Payton Manning.

Also got to give kudos to the extra blockers that Wiz keeps back in his protection fronts. They are getting good chip blocks before they release off into a route and they are releasing into their routes when they should. Releasing off into a route for a TE or RB is an art, you cant do it to fast and you cant do it to late either.

Edge should get some credit. He's really still an amazing runner. He's better than SA.

But he went untouched on that seventeen yard touchdown run in the first half. Untouched!

Two things:

1. When was the last time we had a touchdown run longer than 10 yards?
2. Do you know how important it is to be able to run the ball in redzone?

I was flat out wrong about Gandy. He's been great.

Wells has stepped up his game too.

Let's enjoy it. If our running game keeps looking good and we win some games, Grimm will be a head coach somewhere else next year.

I doubt it. There are way too many big names that are going to be available as head coaches.

In two years, however, he's probably gone

Grimm has been terrific. I hope we get a young OL coach to be his apprentice as if the Cards do well and the OL excels, Grimm is as good as gone.

It is showing up as a -4 yard run by Leinart and not a sack on nfl.com. I think it should be counted as a sack.

I don't. It doesn't count as a sack when the quarterback kneels the ball. That is in essence, the same thing. Matt fell down and stayed down.

so far, I've been pretty damn wrong about everything on offense concerning Edge and the O-line - I hope to continue to be made to look like such an idiot. Man, it's really something watching an honest to god GOOD running game. Not just an okay running game - but a GOOD running game.

very impressed with what's been done with the O-line and even more impressed with Edge - dude really does look like the Edge of Indy. Very impressed.

watching football is alot more fun now (instead of cringing every time the ball is handed off to the RB)

It really is amazing. When they brought pretty much everyone down on the line of scrimmage I started screaming "AUDIBLE TO A PASS" and yet he still gained like 7 yards or something.

absolutely amazing. that was so much fun to watch.

I think the push the o-line is getting is great. Edge had one run that me and my buddy thought ..oh that was a 2 yard loss. It turned out to be a two yard gain. For me that's the big differance from last year.

Next week will be huge test.

Points will be at a premium. the Jets almost came back at the end today. Balt isn't going to score a lot of offensive points (probably) so if we can somehow put up 21 or so it should be enough to win. that's a tall order though.

Very hard game to win on the road next week. and Pittsburgh at home will be rough too. Grueling stretch ahead.
