Visalia Times-Delta/Tulare Advance-Register readers can now vote for their favorite high school athletes.

The poll closes on Friday at 10 a.m. There are no restrictions so vote now and vote often. Please do not email your votes.

Here are the choices for the week of March 17-21:

  • Teague Brandenburg, baseball, Central Valley Christian: Brandenburg drove in three runs on two hits as the Cavaliers defeated Monache 7-3.
  • Erin Fawkes, softball, Golden West: Fawkes tossed a complete game, hurling 12 strikeouts to lead the Trailblazers to a 4-0 win over Exeter. She also had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
  • Reagan King, softball, Redwood: King threw six strikeouts in five scoreless innings to anchor the Rangers to a 2-0 win over Pioneer Valley. She allowed just two hits.
  • Roman Leal, baseball, Tulare Union: Lean fanned 11 batters in a complete-game outing as the Tribe topped Caruthers 9-2. He surrendered just one earned run.
  • Jacob Molina, baseball, Exeter: Molina blasted two doubles and pushed across four runs to lead the Monarchs to a 12-5 win over Corcoran. He finished with three hits and had two runs.
  • Eli Palomino, baseball, El Diamante: Palomino fired five strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings with two walks and an earned run in a 1-0 loss to Stockdale.
  • C.J. Ramos, baseball, Redwood: Ramos launched a home run, finishing 2-for-2 hitting with two runs and three RBIs. The Rangers beat Sunnyside 11-1 in five innings.
  • Adrian Santa Cruz, track and field, Golden West: Santa Cruz placed first in the 100 meters at the Redcat Relay, clocking in at a personal-best 10.50 seconds, which in results posted to athletic.net, is the fifth fastest time in the state.
  • Janmarie Topalian, softball, Tulare Western: Topalian drove in three runs, scored twice and had a hit in a 14-3 win versus Golden West.
  • Matteo Zuniga, baseball, Mt. Whitney: Zuniga had three hits and three RBIs to help the Pioneers outlast CVC 8-5. He also scored a run.

How to nominate an athlete of the week​


Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.

All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received by Monday morning following that week's games for consideration.

Anyone can nominate an athlete of the week for every sport. Nominate next week’s ballot through email. Readers can email nominations to sports reporter Vongni Yang at [email protected]. Please include a player’s statistics and a photo if possible.
