Ok! I may hear fluff-piece, kool-aider, pollyanna, etc...BUT, football is here! :) Finally! We all waited months for this and there is NO way I'm buying into this projection of Cards gonna' miss the play-offs, etc, etc. How many teams' seasons have been decided before they even played a down in the pre-season?? Why are there always "Cinderella' teams? Why do teams that sucked last year suddenly become teams you don't want to play this year?? I could go on but I know you guys get the point.

Every year is a "work-in-progress". A changing of the guard as players come and players go. Teams take time to gell. There is no instant cure-all. No magic wand to be waved. Truth is, EVERY team has question marks going in. But, time is always the great revealer of what will actually be. To me, if we're 4-4 at the mid-way point we've got a shot. ...And to buy into all this doom & gloom at this point is to cheat myself of everything I looked forward to these many months. I flat-out refuse to do that!

I have faith in Coach Whiz' & this staff to get the job done. It's not blind faith. It's built on watching the past 3 years. This team has fight in it and it stems from the guys in-charge. WE will be heard from this year! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to put my pads on and hit something! GO CARDS! :D

In the last paragraph you mentioned "the key". Players come and go in this league; it is the Organization and Coaches which bring consistency. Our Organization has been questionable in the past, but they did bring us this coach. They tried to bring a "winner in this town", they tried with Denny Green, (a move praised by the "experts"), but we never had a real home until now.

It is the Organization that resigned Coach Whisenhunt. I believe this is the best move they ever made. I believe our coach wants to win, not a little, but everything. I also believe he is an intelligent man; you don't get an engineering degree just for dropping your pants at halftime. Coach Whisenhunt chose to stay here. He could have had a job almost anywhere in this league within a year.

The "experts" love the 49ers. They think we were all about KW. What was KW's record here before Coach Whisenhunt? I am surprised at how little recognition our Coach receives. I think it indicates a lot of ignorance on the part of the "experts". The bottom line is that I don't care. All I care about is results. If the "experts" want to think that all of our hopes are riding on Matt Leinart this year, let them. I know it is a man named Whisenhunt that is responsible for who takes the snaps behind center. If it is good enough for Coach, it is good enough for me.
