Whiz said that this happens, this is an emotional game and things like this happen. He even used the example (coughlikesomeoneelseonthisboardcough) of how Warner and Haley were getting at it in the first quarter. It is all explained well in his press conference.

Haley said that is was just emotions running high, and it was after they substituted Breaston for Boldin. The reason being they thought Breaston could run a little better out there.

Warner even chimed in, and when he tells it, it makes you feel foolish about the whole situation. Telling stories about his wife asking "What did you and Haley fight about this week?" He seemed almost shocked a what a big deal it was. Went on to tell a bit of a story about coach player relationships.

Now Boldin in his own words has echoed what everyone else said. It was the heat of the moment. He just didn't understand why he was taken out and not given an explaination. It is not big deal. FURTHERMORE, he left early because he knew that people would do nothing but talk about his spat with Haley, and didn't want that to become a big story.

And all others all have said the same thing. The story checks out, the situation was exactly what many on this board thought it was. Boldin wanted to be in, and had a disagreement about it with Haley. It should be obvious that Boldin understood it was at a bad time since he left rather quickly trying to not let the situation blow up.

So I think it is time to drop the situation, it obviously is a whole lot of nothing. Just the media fishing for stories from here on out.

So, essentially, I wish I could have grabbed Anquan and dragged him back on the field. Tell him to stop being silly and enjoy the celebration. Nobody cares about that kind a stuff and really he only made the story bigger by leaving. Too bad he missed out on that.

I guess he will have to insure a win at the Superbowl so he can enjoy at least one big party on the field this year :D

Go Cardinals

not that easy. although I wont post anymore.....er try not too about the situation. Hes full of ship. Wanna defuse the situation? celebrate a once in a lifetime moment with your teamates. Go back to your locker like a man, take the media question and say, "hey heat of the moment thing, its done" and just like that, all is squelched.

Will you be back next year in AZ? "no comment". no, everything is not ok.

That is your opinion about it.

In my mind the story has taken a life of its own. I see that the same answer to the same question by 6 different people. Kinda hard to have a lie fit in that well in less than 24 hrs.

Eh, like many things. I will say this: Like I said when I first wrote something about the situation, it was in game emotion, a lot to do about nothing, and wish Boldin could have stuck around for the party. Not going to type, read, and skew myself into believing any of the hype to make something out of nothing.

As for the question on whether Boldin will be back next year....COME ON! He has been saying the same thing for seven months, SEVEN MONTHS. At least it is an improvement from the preseason where he said "I'll never sign with the Cardinals again". Since the beginning of the year he has tried not to be a distraction to this team. He tried to do what he thought was best to diffuse the situation during yesterdays game, and he is certainly no going to start talking about next year when he has clearly stated a trillion times during the season we will not talk about it until the season is over.

I can guarantee you this. Q and the players have already shoved this aside. It's over...
The media will of course be all of this like flies on fresh cow dung... Any fan that chooses to behave the same - go for it... Who cares? The players and the team are all that matters and again, for them this is a non-event...

It really hasnt though. If you look at the things from training camp to now, it all makes sense, I think Q kept his cool because he was getting catchs and TDs, come playoffs hes been basically a non factor and we're starting to see that pot boil over again.

Like I said Q could have squelched it right after the game even if he didnt want to celebrate.. but he didnt and now this is whats left.

Hind sight is always 20/20. He did what he thought would best diffuse the situation. It turned out to be the wrong choice.

It is not like there is a book on this in the library. How to handle getting caught in an arguement with you OC on the sideline during one of the most emational times in your life.

To bed with this I say!

OT: That picture of Breaston is great BTW, my wife love him. Her favorite player!

We will probably never know what the players think about Q leaving early. Publicly they are going to say that it's no big deal, but they may tell their friends a different story, we just won't hear it in the media though. It will be a distraction though, because the media is going to make it one.

Get Real, Q walked out on a huge accomplishment by his team. HIS TEAM!! Childish is what that was. He precedes to leave arm in arm with Drew Rosensuck(just saw it on Fox 10) saying no man I am not sending a message to the Cardinals, when every action is that he is sending them a message. Get me out of here next season or I will make life miserable for this organization. The coaches should grab him by his short and curlies and tell him to own up to the contract he himself signed and blame his agent if he feels it was not a good deal. Further more they should say **** and do what we say on the football field and maybe we won't sit your ass next year behind the LSU kid and let you rot. For the Super Bowl they should use him again as a decoy unless he simply walks on his contract effectivly killing his career. I am sorry but every high profile Rosensuck client pulls this crap and Q or no Q he can suck it. Use him as a decoy but do not let his bad attitude and unprofessionalism effect our SUPER BOWL damn it. He made this bed not anyone else in the organization...He can straighten up and fly right or go down in flames but do not let him take the Cards down with him. They have a Super Bowl to win.

There are two separate issues that the media is confusing with each other:

1) Will Q be a Cardinal next year? This has always been <10% chance. Nothing has changed this playoffs except possibly to make it lower.

2) Will this be a distraction? Q is too professional to let this affect his own performance or the team. (Plus he wants a big SB game to boost his trade value a little more.)

Man, you are really fooling youself. Wake up...

I am awake. :D

But it is funny you would say that I am fooling myself.

I read, and listened to what Boldin had to say about the situation, and what his teammates had to say about the situation, and what the coaches said about the situation.

I believe them over the hornet's nest of speculation that has built up on this board, and the shock story hacks on the internet.

It least my opinion is based on fact, and from what the player, the team & organization have to say about the matter.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion. I find it funny that so many are SO SURE what he was thinking, and SO SURE everyone is lying to cause a cover up.

Great points.

Distractions ? This team has had A LOT of distractions this year. From Boldin, to Edge, to blowouts, to getting slammed in the media, etc., etc.

This is a fart in the wind. The only ones that seemed to be distracted by this are the media and fans.

So you are saying to go back to the beginning of the year, and before preseason, and start to bring up the issues from then ?

I though Anquan stated that he was not going to talk about his contract situation until the end of the year, and he was going to go out and work hard for his team.

I don't see where he has deviated from what he said 7 months ago. If the media, and others want to constantly bring that situation again, and again, I bet Boldin will still have no comment on the issue till after the season.

As I stated above, anyone who is shocked by his answers about his contract situation have not be paying attention over the last 7 months. He is not going to talk about it. PERIOD. Expect to hear a lot of, NO COMMENT from Boldin over the next 2 weeks.

And what is the big deal about Rosenhaus leaving with him. That is probably the reason for his poor decision to leave. Rosenhaus is scum, and has thrown many a player under the bus to get his money. If there is a fatal flaw with Boldin, it is that he listens to Drew. That is what TO did, and thus the press conference on his front lawn. I would not be surprised if Rosenhaus thought it would be a good idea for Boldin to leave, but I don't know. No one knows.

I just like Boldin said at the beginning of the season about his contract, he said that this situation will not be an issue, and that he is concentrating on one goal. That is to win the Superbowl. He has stuck to his word for 7 months, and I don't expect him to go back on it now.

For the Super Bowl they should use him again as a decoy unless he simply walks on his contract effectivly killing his career. I am sorry but every high profile Rosensuck client pulls this crap and Q or no Q he can suck it. First, if the Cardinals do not use Anquan Boldin, and get everything they can out of him during the Superbowl that would be the dumbest move in Cardinals history.

Use him as a decoy? WHY? That is madness !!!! Once again, Coach Whiz, Boldin, Warner, Fitzgerald, Haley, even ESPN etc., etc.,etc. have all said this is not an issue. They have given reasons, why this and that happened. Why on earth would the Cardinals not use Boldin as effectively as possible ? Because of bunch of internet hacks with there 2 bit opinion think they know more than everyone in the Cardinals orginization ? Because some fans expect everything to be perfect all the time, and have formed a hornet's nest opinion about what is going on with this issue ?

NO WAY IN HECK

I have to say. Thank goodness, that the coaches have more sense. The team has dropped the this and has said it is not a big deal, and not an issue. Same as Boldin. Boldin will be used full time, his playing time won't be effected by some rift that doesn't even exist. To think otherwise is madness.

The Cardinals, as a team, have all said there one goal is win the Superbowl. And that is what I have expected them to do.

If some of you refuse to believe the coaches, players, and organization well, then there is nothing that anyone can say to change your mind. If you think you know more than the team, the coaches, and the player who this story revolves around then, once again that is your choice.

But then I also want the Mega-millions numbers when you have the time.

Man, rugby, it's ok to not care about how big this issue can potentially get, but to flat out convince yourself that there is no ongoing issue here is downright pitiful.

One last thing.

I understand the feeling of Boldin not being out there for the celebration. I understand the dissapointment.

It sucks. The biggest moment in Cardinals history and feels like there was a blemish, etc., etc.

The team as a whole didn't let it effect them and saw it as a non-issue. So, if the team is fine with the situation, then I am fine with the situation. All I care about is the team being ready for the Superbowl.

I take the same stance as Whiz on this matter. He said he is not going to talk to a player on how he celebrates an accomplishment.

Boldin has said since the beginning of the season, that he is going to do what his contract asks of him and nothing more.

He showed up, he played, and he left. That is fine with me.

If people want to call me crazy for sticking up for the guy. That is fine.

I sat here and got put through the ringer when the board threw Fitzgerald under the bus and stuck to my guns and my opinions. I watched Fitzgerald's bandwagon re-fill with fans, many who were bashing him earlier.

I did the same, and continue to do the same with Leinart. Not that he should be starting, but that there is NO WAY he should be traded, or let go, and that he has a good NFL future.

I did the same with Edge, and now I will do the same with Boldin.

My hope is that Boldin has a HUGE Superbowl, and we win.

Sidenote: To be fair, I also have been on the Alan Branch bandwagon and defended him. As well as Jereme Tuman, Eric Green, and Elton Brown. So, I am far from a prophet. VERY far. :D

Get your head out of the sand.

I agree it will be an issue.

It will be an issue within the media, and fans.

Just not the team. The team has proven time and time again that it will not get distracted by things like this.

Pitiful? OK. That is your opinion.

I find it pitiful to believe the hype, and to believe speculation over what the coaches, players, and team says.

I find it pitiful to be so easily ready to pick up the pitchforks and go after players for no reason.

The coaches, players and entire Cardinals organization have had distractions and issues all year long, and I have yet to see them cover up and lie about any of it.

The Boldin & Dockett training camp situation, the Warner/Leinart situation, getting blown out by the Jets, the Edge situation, losing 4 out of 6 situation...... If you took the time to read all the articles, and watch the media you will see the organization has been straight forward about all of it. And 99% of the time the rest of the media has been wrong.

Why would the Cardinals start covering up and lying now ?

I'll stick with believing what the coaches, and players have to say on the matter. Why would I start listening to the media outside the organization now? They haven't been right about anything all year.

I have my head out of the sand sure enough, I am listening, reading, and taking it all in. I am just able to tell ---- from shinola.

Whoops! You dropped this on your way out.

It is the Super Bowl and there is always more hype than substance. I don't think it will be a major distrction to the team. BTW, anyone want to buy a used Boldin jersey in excellent condition?

I am with you Rugby, I think the media and the hornets nest on this board WANT it to be something. As far as him leaving with his agent, I am pretty sure his agent was waiting for him outside the locker room doors. No big deal. His agent is just doing his job (I cant stand his agent)

Breaston has become one of my favorite players. As to Q coming or going it seems like a no brainer that he will leave even if he was a saint. How can we tie up $20 million a year in just two wide receivers?. Q thinks he can get that and maybe he can. Add to that he has not been a happy camper and will always play in the shadow of Fitzgerald how can one logically think he will be back?

Joe Johnson is from Little Rock and I followed him all the way through high school. I knew he was good but never thought he was as good as he has become in the NBA. He spends time in Little Rock with various charities. He is a class young man. In high school I thought one of the other guys on the team was better than him but I have lost track of him. They of course were state champions and Joe was all SEC. Sure threw a wrench into the U. of Arkansas's plans for a good team.

Why does one guy have to take away from the greatest thing that has ever happened to the Cardinals? Selfish at best and stupid otherwise. With Q it is apparently all about "me". I do not look at it as just another small dispute. It has take up headlines and tv space all over the nation. I would hope he would give it his all for the Superbowl as it is not only in the teams and fans best interest but it is also in his best interest.

Rugby, we all want the team to see this as a non issue as you say. Who wants distractions like this going into the Super Bowl. No one. The fact remains that Rosenhaus is running the same gameplan that he has ran with many of his clients and Q is following the script. He made his little play and now he will say "no comment" but I believe he is thru as a Cardinal. Defend his childishness all you want. He walked out on his team at the biggest moment yet in there history. You want a teammate like that. They will say it does not matter. Nothing has changed but deep down it hurts like hell for the guys that have done battle with him and got to this point. I no longer want the dude in my foxhole. It was simply a ploy to get out of a contract he signed. He does not want to be accountable for that or to his team or teammates. He signaled that with this action. Your head truly is in the sand if you do not see this.
