Does everyone remeber Sam Mills the MLB for the Saints and the Panthers. He was 5-9 and a very good MLB in the 3-4 scheme.

The closest thing we have right now as far as a sure starter is OL L Brown. Right now, A Branch and B Davis are "hopefuls" IMO.

Anyone know how tall Singletary is?

under 5'11"

there is a cadry of smaller linebackers in recent history that were great hitter and still are

zach thomas
sam mills
mike singletary

to mention a few. it fits in the "philosophy" that the team followed throughout the draft.

They really deserve an A in sticking with what they set out to do. Take a non-emotional look at what they did and they filled the holes that we desperately needed to get filled. Those who said Brown was a "reach" I disagree with entirely. Would I have preferred to take him at 7/8/9 yeah I guess so, but as you all heard there were no takers. The only possibility was if Minn/Miami were bidding for Quinn at that stage of the game.

The F/O did a great job in followng the game plan. Now we have to see if this translates to play on the field. Something else to ponder. If we didn't take Brown we would STILL have the same problems facing us as we would have the day before the draft. The number one goal is protecting Matt from another TWO shoulder injuries and establishing a running game.
